they've reannounced this one?? Been on the cards since last year but heard they had some legal issues with D&K and copyright?

Looks like a very nice set to me. Hope they make it. The T-shirt and the description "Arabia towel" made me chuckle.

I know it’s probably accurate and all, but what’s with the over-sized helmet cover...? I’m sure it must serve some purpose, but to me it looks beyond stupid, like a deflated air-bag, or an over-sized shower cap. You would think the Israeli military would want their soldiers to look scary and intimidating, not like they just caught a trash bag with their head that had been blowing in the wind.

That helmet cover, called Mitznefet, is a unique IDF item. It was designed in the early 90's to break up the outline of a helmeted head, prevent sunlight from reflecting off the helmet and relieving heat in both the bush and urban settings of southern Lebanon during the IDF's campaigns in that region. It is now reversible, with one side in desert camo and the other more woodland/urban. It does look strange, but it does serve a purpose.

Having said that I like this figure a lot. The Multicam helmet cover looks great, as do the rifle and the uniform. The one thing I don't particularly like is the kneepads.

Overall a definite buy for me, but like lurpdog said this was announced last year and has yet to be released...

Thanks for the info, PV. That makes a lot of sense, and does help explain it's odd size and shape. While it may look sort of goofy, that's actually pretty clever.

Very interesting hinged knee armor, my first time to see that kind.
Flagset taking a stab at a John Wick portrait, the beard looks too well-defined to the point that it looks cartoony.

Yes the knee pads do look different but I remember when this was announced last year I had the same thought. I did some research and found that actually, they are accurate! I don’t like them though. They would be changed on it if I got it haha.

Shalom Alehem folks,

I recently got my Sayeret Matkal and just a few minutes ago finished putting all his equipment into place (which took me several weeks' night hours), and I can only say it has been worth the time.
Flagset managed the difficult task of creating a convincing IDF soldier figure almost perfectly.
What amazed me most is that the figure's face does really have the typical features of eastern european jews (the little fella even looks very much like me when I was young ;-) )
And he comes with tons of equipment including the latest IDF assault rifle, several Magen David flag patches and even the typical miznach for the helmet.

There are some little points for criticism though:

First of all there are those new so called "bendy hands", which seem to be quite a good idea. But in fact they are just (censored) or as we'd say in my German dialect "a rechter Schmarrn". Apart from the fact that they look way too bulky for the scale of the whole figure, it's impossible to get them into the gloves, and the bending fingers don't really stay in the position you bend them.

Second one is that this highly detailed and equipped figure lacks one little thing that no male Jewish soldier would ever leave at the barracks when he moves out ... his kippah.

I hope you guys (and girls) enjoyed my little review.
Greetings and mazel tov to all fellow collectors,
ben_kadeesh

P.S.: tomorrow night I'll free his little sister of the Nachshol Recon Company from her box ;-)

I agree about the bendy hands — they are garbage, and the wires in the fingers have a tendency to ultimately poke through the rubber.

I would think they'd also eventually break after several/many times of manipulating them.
