I've been messing around with 1:6 furniture. This first one was originally posted on OSW.
http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/sixth-scale-action-figure-news-reviews-and-discussion-/858433-card-table.html.
It is made from hardwood and green felt. The mitred trim was tricky to do.

This one is made from a circular bamboo pot tray and a leg that was turned on my mini lathe.

I agree with brassco. Very nice pieces, and you just answered my question about the felt!

Really well done. The mitered corners, and that pedestal table are really great. Now where’s Mads with his bloody tear-drop eye?

Damn, these look great. Love that leg on the round table, and the felt work is so clean and precise. And the touch of weathering on the green really sells it. Great work.

That's one killer looking table. I like it...a lot.

You and the lathe are becoming good work partners.

Well done.

now that´s some very good inspiration for 1:6 furniture. every now and then i stumble over some items  at my go-to shop though the price on the interesting ones always put me off for something simply sitting in the background or getting weathered / partially destroyed even.

shame i lack the proper tools..... oh and the skill as it seems Very Happy

Miniature furniture will always be expensive because of the time involved in making it. Both of the above tables took the best part of a day to make. I could have made a full sized version in the same time.

The second table is easy if you don't want a turned leg. It only requires four pieces of wood and the most complicated one is pre-made (the pot tray). Just cut to size and glue together. Then paint the wood, glue on the felt, and it is finished. It cost less than $5 for the pot tray and about a dollar for other materials. Apart from the lathe, the only tools I used was a small saw, a set square, a pencil, some sandpaper, and scissors for the felt.

I picked up some of these bamboo trays.

I thought that they would be big enough for a table or some shelves but they are too small. Then I realised that they are about the right size for stools. Then I thought about folding stools. The dowels stick out far enough for a leg to pivot on the end.

4 popsicle sticks, 2 lengths of bamboo. One length is thin enough to slip inside the other. I left the node on one end so that it can't slide all the way through.

The parts only took 20 mins to make. But it took another two hours of fiddling and adjusting to get them to fit together properly and to make the stool sit flat.

And after all that messing around and finally getting it to sit properly...

...it is too high Sad

I'm going to have to take a centimeter off all of the legs.

Clever. That’s a really cool idea. Maybe, they need a cushion, too?

Very cool stool build. A cushion would make sense, but you would have to take off more from the legs.

Brilliant.

I really admire your ability to see something special in an ordinary item.

Not necessarily. Right now it’s like he’s sitting in a tray, so a cushion that’s level with the tray frame would make it more normal.

Those stools are awesome!!! And I'm not sure I agree with you guys on the cushions. It would obscure that great woven material, which I'm pretty sure I've seen those types of stools made out of. Super cool stuff.

Which raises him another 5mm or so off the ground, so I need to lower the stool even further. I can't take it off the bottom because it drops the axle down too far, so I'm going to have to try another prototype with new legs.

Yep. If I added a cushion, I would flip over the tray so that you will at least be able to see this detail from the bottom.

Found another version of those bamboo trays.

The larger one is just big enough to turn into a table. It was easy to make - simply sand off the top so that the edging is closer to the surface of the bamboo slats and then glue on four legs.

Nicely done. They could even serve as slightly larger end tables (with Bond there, I had an instant flashback of Sean Connery waiting in the dark for Professor Dent in Dr. No, playing solitaire).
