This thread will keep posting up my every seamless figures that I customized and posing. Welcome for comments and critiques...
So, there are many folks enjoying their action figures....Here I share some of my posing compilation for what I had.....
Here are some posing tips from my researches. (They are some limitations pose accessible for figures, due to the materials used on body. Whatever you do, please remember don't break your beloved.. )
1 - Balancing. - Our body keeps balancing all the time, without this your figure will look odd...When your waist swing around, your shoulder will balance another side. And if you doing extreme pose with shoulder, your head will keep straight. Just similar how chicken head works.
2 - Gestures. - Every movement has a meaning, at least for a nice frame when taking photo. You will swing up your palm, and slap on idiot face, when you get mad with them. Gestures will also affects from a hand to another hand, because our limbs are gathered. your left arm will swing to the front when your right foot step forward. Balance! yeah......
3 - Curves. - Curves are for the posing feature.....A snake always look dynamic and nice than a stick. See how fashion designs work...
4 - Eye contact. - This is not only for figures. A good portrait photo always tell you good from the eyes....Although figures are always with a fix face, but you still can have 2 ways to play the eyes part. Completely looking on camera (with confident), or make him/she looking far away from camera (unaware of camera)....Other than this, your figure will otherwise look like so shy to looking on camera, and kind of....keep looking the photographer to give direction for posing or something....if you know what I mean.
Ostrich:"HEY YOU!!"
5 - Lighting - Lighting is a key to bring out the figure looks real, because they are so small, real-life lighting cannot create enough shadow for them. So we need to make a 1/6 scale lighting for them....A flash from a camera phone could do the job.....and believe me or not..If you want an elegant lady, put big torch on her face, no shadow; If you want a smart-elegant lady boss for bad side, put on top to make her looks strong; If you need a handsome face, put on top-side to create the eye socket shadow...he will look like frown and think deep; If you want a ghostly face, just put the torch below him.....
Finish bluffing nonsense.......
If you are interesting about posing for seamless body, I covered it too. Here.
