They look pretty neat but I can't imagine ever having a use for one.

My thoughts exactly...

They are neat, but I would have imagined them farther down the line of animals to make. Also not sure they captured the most quintessential look of the animal, although I suppose the look may very well vary widely (I am no expert on alpacas). I wonder if "Grass Mud Horse" is a literal translation of the Chinese term for alpaca, which would be pretty amusing. As for usability, I am sure some of our more creative members will have little trouble coming up with a scenario where alpacas were among the last beasts of burden surviving in a post-apocalyptic scenario in which lowlands were devastated but highlands escaped relatively unscathed.

LOL I love that suggestion. Two things would really help:
(1) in general, if the head could swivel around at the top of the neck (it looks doable easily enough).
(2) for your waralpaca scenario, they should make an alternative rearing up sculpt.

Smile

hmmm.....I have been thinking of putting some kit bashes together for a couple of recruits and an Ant Middleton figure from SAS Who Dares Wins....filmed out in Chile...these might work as backdrop pieces.....

The head would be easy, cut it off below the beard, drill a shallow hole in the stump and head and super glue a pair of small magnets in the indentations. Some hobby brands have magnets that match up with hand drill bits, so even better. Smile

LOL Now I picture a fantasy Napolean but instead of the classical war horse pose it's a barded Alpaca.

This is a perfect mount for a halfling from The Shire.  This alpaca needs a ton of gear.
