Must be based on something I missed... but a true Batman fan might appreciate this.

I'm way too traditional for this stuff. Even some of the Batman costumes in the movies puts me off.

it's actually based on a comic book titled "Red Son" created by Mark Millar, a very good comic writer for both marvel n dc (they didn't go far to name the figure lol)

This comic depicts a parallel reality where superman is russian, the "red son" actually. It takes place during the early cold war and batman is shown in a more military 50's winter gear...

While the concept is cool and the comic is  too, I can't point what's wrong but I find the figure awful, it might come from the poses but he doesn't have the Batman usual aura at all... (Elvis made a splendid custom of that batman a long time ago)
