I find this thing overly cool just for the furry body, such a perfect base for any fantasy creature!!! Did Ephiane see that yet???

While I have to confess complete ignorance of the source material, I've always found offerings in these series fascinating. And these set look very impressive. Agree with blackpool about the coolness of the furry body. I bet someone could design a brand new Star Wars sidekick (Mobacca?) with this.

what a figure! so much better than those offerings i've seen so far! But if i collect this, i would have to start collecting other figures from this theme too!

While I never watched any of the movie adaptations (and there are many lol) All these offerings are based on the "monkey king", a classic of chinese litterature written in the 16th century if I'm not wrong. In France it's much more famous under the name "A Journey to the West", but it is the exact same.

I do have to admit, I haven’t been a fan of the previous 50 iterations (exaggeration) we’ve seen of this character — but the unique body and the interchangeable face plates that at least LOOK more “monkeyish” rather than the idiotic half-man-half-monkey ones we’ve seen in the past, make this one really desirable to me; I’m afraid the cost will probably deter me, however.

It's like a combination of two things I love as a kid: weird monster action figures and a Monchichi! If the fur was white, I could make a ThunderCats villain

A very neat concept, and I agree that the body is super cool. Wish there were some werewolves or different types of beast creatures like this though.... as admittedly I am extremely creeped out by monkeys. D:
