We were just talking about shirtless Momoa, lol....

These kinds of figures require a seamless body.

I think the tattoos are really good at disguising the fact the body isn’t seamless - I didn’t notice at all until a few photos down!
Personally it’s not something I’d be after, but I do like the way they sculpted the hair, it gives it a real sense of movement!

This looks quite good, actually. The hair does look like something you might see under water, like a moment captured in a still. The tattoos do distract from the visible joints -- to a point. The whole look conveys more dynamism than the HT version(s).

I haven't seen the film (I assume he is something to do with Aquaman?) but I like the headsculpt, physique and overall look of the character.

I agree that the Tattoos do a pretty good job of hiding the joints in photos, I am not so sure that they will work as well when it is in your hand - but it seems that you can have seamless or tattoos, not both, so it is fine.

Okay, now for the moan: why is he wearing jeans and cowboy boots? Do these people really have no imagination? Must they continually mine ancient myths for good characters which they then bring up to date by transforming them into a dumbed-down version, suitable only for spoon-feeding to American audiences?

This view of the audience's limited understanding and an even more limited willingness to have their mind expanded, is outdated and frankly insulting. If I were a US citizen, I would be even more outraged that this is how we are treated!

Okay, perhaps I am being unrealistic but if imagination is deformed by Dollar-grabbing caution, we are in danger of missing out on so much that is truly amazing!

He was wearing jeans and boots in the first scene.

The up-flowing hair is very limiting. Flowing to the side would probably be more versatile like the Sideshow Premium format, just my thoughts.
Face sculpt looks fantastic! They captured his "badassery".
I'm just imagining GubernatorFan doing a rooted hair version of this!

I don't mind the jointed torso, tatts look great, what i don't like is their Aidol chiselled body, and when i say chiselled, i mean it literally with the body's faceted surfaces. He ain't Bizarro!

If I collected comic stuff, I'd get this figure in a heartbeat. It's just....unF. ;'D  The jointed torso is a sacrifice I'd gladly make for tattoos. In fact, I've been trying to find a suitable body to paint tattoos onto for a while now, and this has inspired me to keep looking...

There are some good points on this figure, but on a personal note I'm really disappointed that Art Figures is going this "halfway" between stylized and realistic figures, on this one like on their recent punisher, the realistic headsculpt has nothing to do with the hyper stylized body and hands.

Added to this they're more and more taking the plastic shortcut when they were amongst the best brands in terms of tailoring and detailed accessories...

I hope at some point someone does Mera.
