Double Duty: 1:6 props that can be used for 1:1 purposes

I don't have a lot of storage space so can't hide away all of my 1:6 stuff when it isn't being used. A better solution is to merge 1:6 with the rest of our activities, so that they can be put to a practical purpose. What 1:6 props do you have that are serving double duty?

Here is a quick one to start with: pallet drink coasters.

Very good idea, shazzdan, and it makes a nice coaster too!

Golly!

I thought it was usually the other way around?

I have one of these money boxes.

Mine has been painted with primer but I haven't decided what colour to finish it with yet. It is pulling double duty as an actual money box when it isn't needed for a display. It gets turned upside down when needed for a diorama.

It looks very promising, shazzdan, even with just primer on. Is this like a piggy bank or a coin jar? At any rate, a possible but a bit unusual part of 1:1 decor. Another example would be BAD WOLF's dragon oil burner, which he is using for tables, and that one is perhaps a more common item you might find in someone's living room or bedroom. I wonder if posting these here creates a redundancy, because something like this seems to me perfect for the "Useful items" thread (where you have posted it already in post 27).

This thread is for items that can be used around the house or office instead of collecting dust in a box until they are needed for 1:6

Yes, but from the contents of your first post, this sounded like sixth-scale items used in regular scale environment. Like your pallet used as a coaster. Or was this actually a real coaster designed to look like a pallet rather than one of your own creations? The barrel-like coin boxes are actually made to look and work like that in 1/1 scale, so they are not exactly a 1/6 scale items that could be repurposed to serve 1/1 uses. Maybe I am just having some trouble wrapping my mind around it.

Speaking of coasters, here is what I came up with. You know those cool but generally quite useless TBLeague bases? Well, I couldn't resist getting these two (they were very affordable) and liked their design. So now they can serve as coasters, too.

I bought this from Ket0 on eBay to make a futuristic weapon or a flame thrower.
Turns out it is a squirtgun!
I love it!

Nice find, Pontiacvan! I'm glad you're back -- was getting worried.

Thanks Gub, lungs again, I should be around though. I seem to be doing better now.

That’s a pretty cool looking squirt gun, PI. Nice find.

Thanks, in keeping with the theme of the thread I'm still going to use it for one of my figures, but I gonna keep it loaded! Very Happy
