At least a fairly typical pose for a cat, even if too specific for my tastes. And, as I just wrote elsewhere, if the tiny Chitocerium XXII-Tanio Atr cat is pretty much fully articulated, I really don't see an excuse for these.

In fairness, that one is heavily stylized, closer probably to an artist's model, with no risk of the joints being overlooked, and doesn't even attempt to simulate stroked fur like this one does. But I agree, there should feasibly be something in the middle, that looks decent and poses somewhat. Which can be said generally for desired 1/6 cats, dogs, and small animals. I suspect the solution would be a combination of some limited joints plus pre-sculpted swappable parts as statues do. The Play Arts Metal Gear Dog is the kind of thing I'd hope to see (except that one specifically is such an outright goofy character, and not intended for 1/6 though borderline usable).

The Chitocerium cat is about three times smaller than sixth scale, so I figure at the right scale, it could have more detail. What it does have is pretty decent articulation, especially for something this small. And one puts it together oneself. Maybe there is just not that much money in it.

Excellent pics! That Chitocerium cat is indeed a mini wonder. But overall you may be right that there isn't that much interest (or perceived money) in making articulated 1/6 animals. I think maybe these JXK and other cats and dogs just wrongly get my hopes up, that someone really wants to serve a demand for 1/6 animals to accompany HT TBL etc figures -- but the reality is something different. JXK isn't after our hobby, or only incidentally so, and its target audience is an independent niche that just likes cutesy animals as desktop decorations or whatever.
