I propose starting a general thread (later to be upgraded to a Sticky thread) for suggestions in finding specific sixth-scale items (head sculpts, weapons, bodies, gear, etc) for everyone to use. (Remember, such threads already exist for reporting tech issues, posting sixth-scale humor, reporting or showcasing useful items; the Sticky threads are located at the top of the General Talk list of threads.)

I will start if off with a question of my own. I am looking for a decent head sculpt for a sixth-scale Famke Janssen (X-Men's Jean Grey/Phoenix, among many other roles). I know Sideshow did one for her role in the James Bond film Goldeneye, but that is both relatively unrealistic (it is quite old), and also quite atypical for the actress' usual features. So let me know if anyone has suggestions for good lookalikes.

I know it may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but remember a couple years ago CGL Toys did that Phoenix Girl? Not sure how easy it would be to find...

This is a neat idea! It's a great example of what fresh thinking can do for forums.

I am trying to find some female WWII Russian uniforms. Specifically the ones that came with DML Anna and the Very Cool female Russian. I would like to avoid buying the figures, I just need the uniforms.

She doesn't look anything like Famke Janssen.

I own two (2) of this figure.

I thought this one had similar looks to Famke. There may be a redhead version out there, if you're looking to make a movie Jean.

Thank you Stryker, DFC, and the Perfect Figure Toys for the suggestions. They all make sense, and I can actually see some resemblance in Phoenix Girl's face and Famke. But certainly not perfect. And she does seem hard to find.

Here is the odd part about CGL's "Phoenix" figure. I remember when it was solicited. However, it didn't receive a proper solicitation per say for US vendors because CGL was still new and not much was known about them at the time. It got "lost" because the it missed the release date as well.

I managed to procure mine about a month after it was released. The vendor I purchased it from only received a few to sell.

I think the production run for the figure was low and it didn't necessarily sell well, but still sold out of its production run.

I searched eBay and can't find it. I'm surprised there are none listed on eBay from Asian sellers either.

I searched on eBay using CGL PHOENIX.

I sometime believe odd/peculiar figures that didn't get wide spread distribution/production runs end up becoming sought after/hard to find for awkward reasons.

Thanks for showing this new Russian set, DFC. It has three of the elements I'm looking for to create the characters in my photo saga: the hat, the blouse, and the boots.

Recently I found just how useful updated boots can be. The ones I have are from DML Svetlana, which dates back quite a bit. The plastic has really hardened with age. Not even really heating them up was enough to remove them (they were always a tight fit on Svetlana's feet) I ended up having to cut them off so I could use the tights on another figure. I'm looking forward to getting a few pairs of boots in that new Russian Sniper set so that current bodies can use them.

I still would like to find at least two of the Russian skirts, preferably from Very Cool. The DML ones won't fully fasten on a Very Cool body.

War-Toys has the DML Svetlana amoeba pattern camouflage uniform on sale: http://www.war-toys.com/svetlana-uniform.aspx

Neat idea,

I would like an Inigo Indiana Jones hat, not the head, just the hat.

CHEERS!

EDIT:

More specifically, I'd like the hat from the smiling one.

GF, concerning Famke Janssen HS; have you seen this one by Snyderman31 on eBay (fully painted w/ or w/out neck), spendy, but it could be what you're looking for:

Thanks, Stryker. I am familiar with Snyderman's work (got a very nice Braveheart head sculpt from him), I don't recall if I had noticed this. The face looks pretty good, and the no neck option is helpful, but I am not sure how I feel about the sculpted hair at this length, and especially at this price.

Got to be honest, I've never really rated their heads, you can sort of tell who they're meant to be, but, like the old Hero Heads, there's a style the sculptor has which carries through all of their work. You can tell instantly if it's one of theirs. A truly great sculptor never falls into a style rut and they just consistently nail each likeness. When you see the prototypes the HT people are like that as is Eleven.

Like Roger, I've got to toss out a prop for Eleven. Their sculpts are excellent likenesses in almost all cases.

Kit at http://onesixthkit.com/ stocks some of them routinely.

I believe DFC is very familiar with him as most of us probably are as well.

Kit is one the very best.

I "TRUST" him.

I can't post/say that about all 1:6 vendors, but I can and will about him (and just a few select ones that earned it).
