Spring is in the air!  (Or so I've heard.  It's still cold as hell where I'm at, there's rumors we're getting 1 last snow storm this weekend, so I'm trying to get my new Wolverine project finished in time to get some good snow pics).  For me, spring is the best time to get outside and get some outdoor toy pics. Personally, I think nothing beats the look of shooting in natural sunlight.

So come on OSF, bring it!  Lets see your best 1/6 outdoor figure photos!

Credit to The Skull over at OSW for kicking off the idea for an outdoor photo thread.  But figured we could do with a bit of inspiration to get out and shoot too.

Here are a couple of my favorite outdoor shots I've got:

Excellent photos. Yeah... it’s still cold as... well, you know. And we’ve had plenty of snow. We got hit with seven inches three days ago, and two more last night. AGHHH!! This winter has gone on too long.

Anyway. Love your figs. Really dig that goth skull-faced girl.

Thank you for starting this thread and sharing your outdoors images, ReverendSpooky, and thank you for rising to the occasion and posting you own, PickleMunkey. We are definitely richer for having seen them in all their glory. I hope others will take you up on this promising start and continue in this thread, and that you keep returning to it, too. As for me, my outdoors images will start after I move to my new place in the fall.

I was concerned the rabbit might decide to nibble on the figures... and I can't be the only one who has seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Thanks so much Stryker!  And man, you got hit with winter a lot harder than we did.  I shouldn't complain.  It looks like we're not even getting that last promised (threatened? snow storm this weekend.  I guess my weapon X photos will have to proceed without snow, at least until next year.

So glad you're liking my skull faced wastelander, Marrow Deathblessed.  I took this photo during the Saint Crow photoshoot this fall.  I loved how it came out, but refused to post it until I named her, and have been wrestling with it since.

Deathblessed isn't really a name. Among the loose confederacy of tribal nomads the rest of the wastelands refer to as the Scut, the Deathblessed are rare. It has been said that they are unnaturally strong and fast, and can disappear like a ghost in a moment.  There is a supernatural reverence for them among the tribes of the Scut, and they believe that they walk with 1 foot in our world, and 1 foot in the lands of the dead.

Marrow is the last surviving member of her tribe, and believes her god watches out for her.  No one is quite sure if she's mad or right.

I feel like she's about 95 % done, but I'm just not quite there.

Thanks GF, and and glad to do it!  I love seeing everyone's pics, and can't wait to see what you've got post move.

Pickle Munkey, I'll repeat what I said on OSW.  These all look incredible. The water ones especially look so rad and realistic. You really make the most of the outdoor lighting, great perspective, and incredible use of the natural foliage. Brilliantly atmospheric.

Ephiane, I always love a look into your beautiful fantasy world.  I think the grave ones are my favorites, although I deeply love any where the dog makes an appearance.  He really fits so perfectly into that world.  Judging by your shooting locations, I'm not 100% sure you don't actually live in some sort of fairy tale forest.

Bad Wolf, I can't even believe you got those pictures with that rabbit!  Adorable, and in a 1/6 world, actually pretty terrifying.  And that last pic, the group pic with the wind blowing, and the big sky behind them, is epic.  Love it.

Thank you, well Chloey was very concerned that the wabbit might decide to nibble on her too, yep Monty Python and the Holy Grail was a
great movie, Chloey is considering another expedition but this time she made sure to pack the holy hand grenades.

Thank you, yeah that rabbit really didn't want to participate very badly in the photo-shoot it took hours to persuade him into it.
I'm happy you liked to photos. Very Happy

Dude! You got your action figures wet! That's commitment! I think the depth you picked is perfect and you inspired me to make some "wet" shots this spring. ( should it ever choose to arrive! )

MarkEl -- for a fairly simple single photo, this is remarkably effective. Pose, color, everything looks just right. I imagine he's an explorer woken by strange noises while camping in the forest and rushing out of his tent grabbing the first weapon he stumbled upon before looking for the source. I'm just wondering what he's hunting for. The spear seems overkill for worms. Wink

BAD WOLF -- is she trying to slay the snow on that satellite dish? If I am interpreting the snow-covered object correctly...

Thanks all for the nice feedback.  The long spear is from an ACI Hoplite set and a bit difficult to balance.  At that range and angle, it looks like he's watching the ground for movement and hunting a mole.  ;-)

Sounds like my crazy uncle. He stands outside in his yard like a bird of prey; silent and still, with a pitch-fork at the ready. He watches the ground and listens for movement, when he sees them tunneling under the grass, he strikes like a cobra. Crazy bastard... but he loves that garden.

Great pics Tankgirlfuzzy! The way the sun hits on the Eowyn pic is perfect!  And the tank pic with the foliage in the background looks so legit.

And Pontician, the second shot with the Gasmask grunt, with the road in the background is one of my favorites.  The perspective is so spot on, and has such a great post apocalyptic feel.  Your bots are always a blast to see, and I just noticed the "hugs" and "kisses" on the pistols.  Love it.  And of course, your rust and weathering is straight up inspirational.

Thanks Reverend Spooky! Most people miss the guns, but I think the humor goes well with his character. While watching the Kentucky Derby today, it occurred to me I had painted him 3 years ago while watching the race. He's still one of my favorites.
I got lucky in every way when I shot the Grunt, from the angles to the weather. I really appreciate the compliment.

TankGirl Fuzzy: great work on the Tank shoot and your Eowyn as well. I agree that the lighting makes that photo!

I take waaaaaay too many photos of my lot! I went on a geology trip this weekend to look for fossils and couldn't resist taking a few dolls in my rucksack. XD

I actually made Marnie here a tiny little trowel with the intention of shooting her digging around amongst the shale for fossils as I'd been doing myself, but alas, there were more people on the trip than I'd initially thought, so finding a quiet spot to myself was all but impossible!

Nice pics, Christine. I remember these beach scenes with the the soccer ball from the old site. Great to see them again. I picked out the following photos as my favorites. (And I like Marnie's skull shirt).

I especially like that shot of Max & Juno walking straight on; the posing looks so natural.

Cheers! Very Happy I was super pleased with that shot too - it took an inordinate amount of work to get them standing without the support sticks showing! It also didn't help that that 'path' was actually a really narrow gap between some flower beds, and kneeling on gravel whilst trying to get the perfect shot wasn't exactly fun! Laughing Worth it though I think!

I'd better start on the Skyrimesque spam now. Twisted Evil
