Ha! Sorry, Delanie. It’s been so long since I watched The Lion King, but now that you mentioned it, I can’t get that song out of my head.

Roger, Harley Quinn in the 90’s Batman the Animated Series had two: Bud And Lou. They’re the only time I’ve ever seen them as pets — I guess because of the “laugh” — which is what I plan to do with them (put them with the HT Harley).

Oh, right, that one passed me by.

That was my 1st thought too!!!

Although they really do work great for the figure pictured and as Delanie pointed out, the Lion King.

Bud and Lou should be arriving today. I ordered these last November from Giantoy while buying the Daphne and Velma outfits from them.

With Mr. Z bringing out a Great Dane I did a little research...

In Scooby-Doo Team-Up # 42 Mystery Incorporated met Harley and the Joker. But for some reason Harley had renamed her 'babies':

It took a while to get into the taped shut polystyrene case!

Finally released the first one from from his prison, and he's very good.

The face actually looks better than the promo images, where it was giving off a shiny, plastic impression. In hand the quality is like that of a Border Fine Art or Country Artists dog.

He's a polystone type material that holds a lot of fine detail, such as hair and wrinkles. Technically he's a she. But reading up about spotted hyenas on the Wiki page, hyenas are a bit strange in that respect.  

That page states that an adult spotted hynea (crocuta crocuta) measures 28-36" at the shoulder. This one is 5", not counting the bristly hair on the spine. So 30" at the shoulder is within the range.

Body length is hard to get exact because the head is turned to the side, but I'd estimate a little over 7.5", making him 45" in real life. The Wiki page says they vary from 37"-65", so it seems about right for the height.


I'll continue to unbox and get some photos.

There are collars, leashes and muzzles still to check out, but here they are with the shortest of my 5 Harley Quinns, (she was the easiest to use as she stands well without support):













The photos were taken with the flash on, and as a result it's washing out some of the subtlety in the paintwork and detail. In hand I'm more than pleased with them, especially considering these were an unknown quantity since I don't remember Alert Line having done animals before. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say they were associated with Mr. Z.

Yes, I'm really liking them. I have a lot of 1/6 dogs, but this is something a bit different.

It wasn't until I looked at the photo that I realised Stanley Ipkiss was more interested in Harley than the mask!



I tried out the muzzle. It's well made but I don't think it's right for Bud or Lou. I gave up trying to tighten the front strap to the next hole:

Bud and Lou look awesome with the HT Harley. Hopefully in the next movie featuring Robie as Harley they get rid of Letoker

The Letoker ranks as the worst Joker for me. But when Crazy Toys made the 1/6 action figure version of him he was too cheap to resist. All I did was swap out the sculpt for a HT recast from OSK.

Most Crazy Toys are statues, and all their action figures bar this one are under sized. I check eBay every now and then to see if Crazy Toys have made anything as good, but no luck yet.
