I know quite a few people painted the eyes a bit, and added more red around the eyes and mouth to get it closer to screen accurate. Some of the adjustments I've seen have been crazy good -- I don't think I'd have the guts to try that, myself.

It makes sense, but like you I'm a little too timid to give it a try... for now. If I had picked up an extra head (there's an idea...), maybe.

He does look slightly better, but, to me, he still slouches far too much. In stills I've seen from the movie, his feet do touch the ground, but, he also sits more upright than the figure can. Modding the seat so he can sit further back would fix it, but, I don't think it can be done.

Can't agree with you there -- he leans back into the throne. We've been over this; go back and look at the photos from the film already uploaded in earlier posts in the thread.

I did, and, his head is much nearer the top of the throne in movie stills. It was people replicating that which led to the dangling feet issue. There's a combination of the figure and the throne at work here and I think putting the figure on a body with longer legs and fixing the throne would be the most complete fix. Here's the still from your own post:

You can see where his head needs to be there.

Ok, yes, in this photo the head looks closer to the "ceiling" of the throne. But:
(1) I was talking about the angle of the body leaning back into the chair, and
(2) If you look at the top of the throne, you'd see the upper side of its "ceiling," indicating that the perspective shows it from slightly above, not straight from the side. This would reduce the perceived distance between the top of his head and the underside of the "ceiling" in appearance.

That said, longer legs in addition to the slightly shortened throne would not be a bad idea.

Here's an example of the little bit of repaint on the HS, done by Mandible:

Nice!

For the original Emperor in the 80's cut of TESB they put in the eyes of a chimp. So, next time you want a detailed look at Sith eyes, have a look at a pic of a chimp!

Oh yes, they certainly made the eyes sparkle, so to speak.

There is no separate handbook for the throne, but there are the following sections on back of the leaflet for the Palpatine figure:

I hope this helps.

You are very welcome. While there is nothing more about the throne, there is the following about the figure and its outfit:

I take it you are trying to make your own. I don't have those, but maybe someone else has them and can help. I imagine you have googled this already. Have you looked on Shapeways for printable scale models? -- although given the size, I rather doubt they will have those for sixth scale (moreover, depending on the source material used they may be correct or incorrect).

GubernatorFan wrote:Speaking of Lucas' revisions, when I was looking up some details for the review, I came across a series of essays on the Star Wars original trilogy (both the actual films and their drafts and deleted scenes). It might make some interesting reading considering all the changes (good or bad) that were applied to the original vision and how many discarded details ended up getting recycled, so I am sharing the links below. The writing could be a lot better, but bear in mind it was quickly translated from the original German (not by me).

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back HERE
