There’s quite a few nice features about this figure — and I do like the head sculpt — I just wonder how many of the military collectors would want the head like that, instead of a more serious expression...

Man, Facepool really does do fun head sculpts. I'm not much of a military collector, but I do see a lot in this set I could get some use out of. May end up picking up. And I agree with you Stryker, I wonder how the more serious military collectors feel about it.

I gotta agree I wonder how military collectors will welcome a face with so much character... This grin would fit a casual or paramilitary figure better I guess, the playerunknown's battleground for example.
(This said I won't blame them as it's been a decade we cry about the dead looking faces that used to come with every military release)

In the same vein I seriously hope more companies will implement the eye system developed by hot toys, it has become a rare feature when it was a great upgrade in the game!

Yeah, I so wish this was a standard that had caught on. What a game changer that would be. Not to mention, it'd be way easier to paint faces without having to mask or repaint the eyes if the eyes were all removable.

I really like this set.  The SPOSN Smersh rig is perhaps the most sought after item for us Russian military 1:6 enthusiasts.  Having said that, I find the headsculpt way too silly for a military figure.  Moreover, I don't like the boots, as I have never been a cloth boots fan.

If anyone is interested in the head, I will be happy to split the set.  I'd take everything except the head and boots.  LMK.

I don't know if there is anything specifically Russian about the face, but it is something different, and as such a welcome addition to all the product varieties out there. In some photos, Anna looks great. But I doubt it would work well in a great many military settings, which makes it a somewhat odd feature. If it weren't too cost prohibitive, I think FacePool would be well advised to make at least two versions of each head sculpt -- a more neutral and a more animated one -- and perhaps sell them as a set.

that head... tis hard to get sculpts with sock buns. might pick one up, but then i have other heads i want too. we shall see.

The figure as a whole doesn't grab me, but, I really like that head. Facepool really are doing some varied and interesting sculpts.
