I had made a post a week or two ago about tracking down a scope mount for an M16 carrying handle. I wasn’t able to find someone selling one separately from the weapon. Fortunately black ops toys had a used M4 carbine with this set up. When I got the weapon the original optic was glued to the mount. I managed to gently remove it with a tiny (eye glass) flat head screw driver. I attempted to remove the mount but that was glued in place (I believe from the factory). That wasn’t a big deal considering I wanted an A2 carry handle anyway, I was just worried about the color match. I managed to also find a scope I liked for $1. The scope wasn’t designed for this particular mount as it’s a tab longer and has holes not pegs but that’s what super glue is for, lol. The scope mount was not level so with some glue and manipulation I managed to get it as straight as possible. Because the scope was longer than the mount I just used layers of glue and paint to fill in the gap (still a work in progress). I did throw a coat of paint to cover the glue and attempt a color match, it still needs some work. I need to get some fine grain sand paper to take out some of the texture and gun metal gray paint. Below are some pictures. I added the cartoon photo of the character to show you the look I’m attempting. If you have any feedback it is always welcome.
