I thought their old plastic skeleton was pretty impressive but this looks even better. The plastic one sold for $30-$40. How much is this one?

This could definitely be used in tons of different scenarios, and seems really nice quality.

Hopefully the price will be right. Every time I see something like this I'm reminded of the Ray Harryhausen movies -- a handful of these guys with swords and shields could be very useful in a Jason & The Argonauts type setup.

Just like shazzdan said, it looks even better than their already impressive plastic skeleton (I have a couple of the 2.0 version which I reviewed a long time ago). And with all metal, there will be even less to "worry" about. My one regret in looking at the photos is the choice to have an openable cranium to accommodate the brain -- for one thing it is just a bit too obvious, for another it is unnecessary. But I do realize that jointed poseable skeletons are also an impossibility in the first place...

Here's my review of the plastic ones -- in case it is still relevant in any way, but of course this is going to be a new product.

Opening head would be useful if you wanted to add lighted eyes like i was thinking of doing for my 'red death' figure.

One thing that might be a bit screwy is its neck I may be wrong but it seems to have too many vertebra I may have miscounted but it should have only 7 in its neck, okay picky I know but I used to be a nurse and anatomy was one of my favourite subjects.

There does seem to be ten, rather than seven, S. If my count is accurate.

Neat figure. 2 numbers I'm eager to see: price (obviously) and weight (for shipping cost).

One thing that caught my attention is that this new skeleton seem to have articulation on the spine, possibly allowing some crunch movement. Do the plastic ones have it too? I couldn't see anything that would hint it on Gub's photos. Btw, awesome review, and I really laughed at some of the pics.

Thanks! It is possible to bend the lower spine (and the neck) slightly on the plastic 2.0 models, but not the upper back (which forms a box with the chest).

They are completely different products. One was made from plastic with no accessories. The other is cast from metal and comes with accessories.

Welp, if that's the price it'll get, I don't need to know the weight anymore... So long, skeletons... Sad

Take a look at how much the plastic Coomodel skeletons were selling for.
The one with the spear and square shield was $70-$80
The one with the sword and round shield was $100-$120
The "cowboy" was $100-$120 (this had the most accessories and was the best value for money).
The "reaper" with the red robe and scythe was $100-$120
Their plastic skull sold for $30 by itself.

$120 for a metal skeleton with sword and shield (and removable brain) is a good buy in comparison.

Edit: Doesn't come with sword or shield - just hands and brain. How much is a parted-out sword and shield worth?

Wait, does it come with a sword and shield too? In these thread, it doesn't say that. And I didn't know about their previous prices. It's a great deal, then.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to buy them for now. With (a loooot of) luck, I may try to grab 2 or 3 next year... if I get to find any... at a reasonable price. That's the curse of this hobby.

Thanks for the info, Shazzdan.

shazzdan

shazzdan
Actually, nope. No sword or shield. Photos are a little deceptive. I edited above post.

Same seller just relisted three more. Price is now $130.

Since it's a bit too soon and they've already released some "combos" with the plastic skeleton, they may do the same with these metal ones and we maaaay get some nicer pricings. Let us hope.

if i got shelve space, i might buy an army of these, like depicted in the 1999 The Mommy movie...and since Egyptian queens are already in place...why not?
