Interesting that your have reenactments of the American Civil War (aka The War Between the States or The War of Northern Aggression). Must be interesting ... from a British point of view that ought to be just a bunch of bloody rebels fighting another bunch of bloody rebels. Smile

Well I like my detail, and even having things correct where no one sees, but 501st UK stretch it that bit too far for me.
I think too that they have a difficult relationship with Shepperton Design Studios due to their own links with Lucus Film and now Disney and the law suits which have gone on with Andrew Ainsworth.
They certainly don't recommend SDS for anything, and I suspect I would have a hard time getting my armour through clearance simply because of where it comes from.  They ask the make of armour as part of the clearance process here.

Still, instead of spending the next year building an armour kit to a minute level of film accuracy for clearance, i'm out trooping in a great set of armour anyway Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

I loved reenacting The War Between The States  when I was younger, used to bore people with the level of detail I would go into Shocked Shocked Laughing   I loved that it was photographed (although I learned quickly that the camera does lie Rolling Eyes )  and the diaries from the ordinary soldiers.  It meant you could build up a good knowledge about the life of the common soldier at that time.

You would think that Great Britain would see it as rebels fighting one another, but there are all sorts of political vested interests here in the UK at the time which make it very interesting if somewhat more complex a relationship.  But thats a discussion for another day and thread lol.

Now Sand Troopers?????

Interesting discussion and I'm sorry I missed it. I know a few Civil War re-enactors and, while very nice people, they're a bit...how shall I put this gently...obtuse. They do get down to the minutia (or bogged in the damn weeds, where I come from) of everything up to and including the thread count in a blanket. That's a gear I ain't got...but harbor the same thoughts about organized religion, so no further elaboration is needed.

Just do the right thing and it'll all be OK.

I think it's great looking armor and pretty damn cool, to boot.
