Another striking and beautifully executed over-the-top fantasy set from TBLeague. I like it, but these are getting to look a little cliched to me personally -- and have been for a long while, although I have and like the first Arhian they did, as well as their so-called "Spartan Goddess of War." I prefer somewhat more realistic fantasy warriors, and those tend to be the stuff of kitbashing and customizing. The beautifully ornate elements here might be too much even for that, but perhaps I'm lacking in imagination. I do like the fur elements and the stitched detail on the shoes.

A pretty enough figure ... though nothing particular 'Norwegian' about it to my eyes. Razz

In all seriousness though, while I get that many of these tbleague offerings are intended as fantastical depictions of mythological figures, I personally find them too generic in design to be of interest. It's not even the skimpiness or over the top nature of the outfits so much as it is the fact they all seem indistinguishable from one another.  If this had stronger nods to Viking art, 19th century Romantic depictions of Vikings, or just... something -- anything -- to provide it with a bit more cultural context or artistic relevance, then I'd be 100% more on board.

Looking at the labeling, it appears this is yet another crossover from ARH -- and I wouldn't know to what extent this corresponds to something they have designed. Could be based on a variant (a lot of them do look very similar to each other, as you point out) or just "inspired" by it.

Yeah, you are probably right that it IS based on something specific....I'm just being a grump/snob. Razz

Amen Very Happy

O.K. This one is better than the Style before, but no. Thank You. This is a very special way to show female characters the Friends in Asia have. I see this in MMO´s. Show me a Game Character and i can tell You is this MMO from Korea or not. Very Happy

For better or worse I'm a complete sucker for this style of figure from TBL - detailed armor, seamless body, and gorgeous portrait - I will never not love that combination Smile I have this on preorder, so look for studio shots of her whenever she shows up...

Yeah, Skimpy Armour Fatigue is starting to set in for me, too. Smile

Like the New Arhian, this is more of an upgrade on an existing model than anything else, and there's little enough variation between different models in this 'fantasy warrior' genre to begin with.

That said, as with the New Arhian, in the promo pics at least it's a very nice head sculpt, so I might pick that up on it's own. But then again, there's not that much variation between this sculpt, New Arhian and Nancy in Hell (the only full TBL set I currently have on order), so for me one of these sculpts is going to have fall by the wayside.

Is the Armor made of metal die cast or plastic, especially the helmet?

Most of tbleague’s armour tends to be plastic, from what I understand...

Yep. All plastic — thankfully.

Yes, helmets like this one made by TBLeague have been a softish plastic.

Thanks for the information. Too bad, I'm big fan of metal diecast Smile

Another question: There is a really big price range of that head sculpt on ebay:

You can find several sellers for both price ranges. Are some of these genuine and the others "fake"?
They look good to me on the pictures though (the more expensive on just has better lighting on the pictures).

Wow. They do both look genuine to me. So one is a money grabber and the other is not. Is my theory. ^^

Valiarde

You can find several seller for both price ranges even!
And I was wodnering, because special heads that only come with a figure often go for around 50-60 on ebay, so I was rubbing my eyes when I saw all the 25 Dollar ones for this figure. I think the head looks cute

Totally does. I have no need for it, but at that price I'm tempted...
