wwii - NEW PRODUCT: DID: R80139 Battle Of Stalingrad 1942 Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev 10th Anniversary Edition R8013910

Vasily Zaytsev, a Soviet legendary sniper during WWII, who killed 225 enemy soldiers in Battle of Stalingrad. What is more import, he took down the German sniper school director Major Erwin Konig, which made him a hero of Soviet Union.

It was November 1942 in Stalingrad, the handsome guy wore ushanka and telogreika jacket to keep himself warm, while Plash-Palatka could prevent him from getting wet. His best partner his best partner was a Mosin–Nagant M1891/30. With it, Vasily shot with unfailing accuracy.

Ten years later, a new Vasily is released, with remarkable improvements on headsculpt, SSH-40 helmet, Ushanka, Plash-Palatka, M1891/30 and genuine leather boots and ammo pouches.

If you missed him in 2009, don’t make the same mistake in 2019.

Vasily’s enemy Erwin König is on the way. Those who order and pay for both items will get a free headsculpt. Stay tuned.

Ok, I’m not an expert on the minutiae of military details of this era, but I absolutely loved that movie and this figure looks gorgeous!

Can we please have a Rachel Weisz to go with him?? Razz

I'm pretty sure some company did Rachel's character several years ago (I can't remember which one, however). I see they plan to release Ed Harris's character, at some point.

Oh, nice! I’d never encountered a 1/6 likeness of her before , so I wasn’t sure .

Looking forward to seeing what they do with the Ed Harris one, too.

I never saw the film, but this looks very well done. The head sculpt is great, even if (or perhaps because) it does not exactly "scream" Jude Law. I am having fun looking at their dubious transcription of Russian, especially "Gymnastiorka."

Yeah you are right, the likeness is definitely off — I guess I tend to be more forgiving of that if at least the HS is nonetheless a nice looking sculpt in its own right, if that makes sense.

Is it the VeryCool Soviet Female Sniper (VCF-2025)?
Didn't realize it was based on Rachel Weisz's character.
I recall Peter the Painter did an excellent headsculpt of her.

Looking forward to seeing Konig too. Their first one had an excellent likeness.
I wonder if they're still going with the flocked beard.

Yep. That’s the one.

Wow, so detailed!

And it might not be a great likeness of Jude Law, but it's still a very nice looking figure.
