Elegant Barbie has a hairdo that's very fragile, she doesn't go out much...
but she did jump at the chance for a photoshoot.

a little brighter here, the beads and baubles have dulled over the years but are still strikingly shiny

Parasol Barbie is a tall girl. She's on a permanent stand of some sort and towers 13" at the top of her head.

(My mom (r.i.p.) made these for my daughter long ago, and they occupy a place of honor in the home and the heart.)

Merry Christmas, everybody!

Those are awesome. Sorry about your mom. She did a really good job, and I’m sure your daughter was delighted when she got them. My mom used to make tons of Barbie clothes for my cousin (a couple years younger than me — and interesting trivia, she grew up, and went to school with, actor Mark Ruffalo).

Great barbies; in fact the first one looks more realistic than one might expect. I'm glad you get to remember your mom through these beautiful creations (although I'm sure you don't need them to remind you).

The dresses are quite fantastic, I originally thought they where bought but I read your mother did them, what a skilled woman and what a nice way to remember someone.

Yes these are beautiful, especially the beaded one. I guess she makes a nice rattling noise when picked up.

Makes one wonder what will happen to our figures once we are gone.

Oh these are so delightful, and you can tell they were made with love! As others have said, the first one is stunningly gorgeous, though the second has a whimsical charm as well. Thanks so much for sharing these unique and meaningful figures. I love you
