As usual for me after a day or two of owning one of these, the honeymoon is over.

No major build problems apparent or anything (perhaps because I'm still handling it with great caution), but I've now noticed a couple of slightly disappointing things, mostly in the moulding. There are a couple of small 'depression rings' (the best way I have of describing them) on the outer side of each breast, and the point where the two halves of the body mould are joined has a conspicuous line (in-hand, at least) on the inner legs.

Of course, real-world light conditions can and do play a major part in the perception of these features. These are minor quibbles that seem - so far - to be practically invisible when photographed, and they may also only be peculiar to my own particular figure. Keep her decently-attired, and they're unnoticable.

Perhaps this post is more useful as a revealing window on what a nightmare I must be to live with, with my nit-picking.

It's still a nice body type, but for all that there's always something that's 'off' with a TBL body for me. I keep buying 'em, though.

Mine have arrived too.  Sooner than expected. No shipping costs. No Import taxes. Wonderful.

They have a curvy, natural shape. Stocky but not fat.  The heads are the same tone as the body. They seem to have applied heavier make-up. Tbleague seems to have dropped the "Barbie" attitude as there are more "details", top and bottom.

Thanks for the reviews, good to hear QC issues from earlier models have been resolved.

Has anyone found some outfits that are readily available, and are a good fit for the S38/39?

Clothing with scretchy fabric will work.

I have that dress above though haven't discovered a way to fit it without fatally twisting any body parts yet. It doesn't open at the back, no velcro, buttons or zipper.

Stretchier fabrics definitely help. I have this pretty simple dress that has always been easy to use on TBLeague bodies and S39B is no exception:

According to Giantoy, the most elaborately detailed "secret parts" are on the S07C, S22A, and S32A bodies (and their counterparts -- see the catalog and links HERE).

After working a while with S38 and s39 more and more it appears to me that their head is too small for that massive body.

I did a switch with a small S27 body and a larger head and the proportions seem more correct to me.

Actually both heads are not that different except for the blonde having a long oval face while the darkhaired one has a more circular face.

Hello. i am just buy the phantom killer but i do not like the body ( the genital sculpture no details ).

Then i have a plan to repace it with this s39 ( i think the phantom killer is suntan).

But i worry that will the s39 got the censored too ( the genital sculpture no details ).

I'm not sure, but I think the only Phicen/TBLeague figures with anatomically correct private parts (front and back) were the 09 series? After that I think somebody mentioned that the ones with private parts only had the from detailed.

I want to do a female Soviet soldier and this body would be great, but getting an outfit for her would be next to impossible!

What you need is an Action Man uniform, they are large enough for TBLeague figures.

I don't know about the availability of Soviet pieces (you might have to "source" them one at a time), but perhaps you can find something in Cotswold Collectibles (between their GI Joe and Elite Brigade items they have quite a lot that is designed for older type 12-inch figures and therefore might work).

Just ordered one from a local seller yesterday. Should get in two weeks later. Pretty excited.

I got the Nefertiti body in the mail from ebay today, and after looking at it in-hand I'm quite certain this figure uses the s42/s43 body. It's definitely taller than the s39. I've taken pictures with the s39 body on the left and the unreleased Kier/Gethsemoni/Viking Woman body on the right.

For the most part it is very similar to the Viking Woman body. The only real difference I noticed, aside from the seamless feet, is that the hips are a little wider/fuller on the s42. Otherwise the breasts and shoulders look the same, and the bodies appear to be the same height. So, if you were disappointed this figure has seamless feet you could probably just wait for when Phicen does a general release of the Viking Woman body to get a very similar body with regular feet.






I have a preference for figures with full hips/waists, so I think this body looks really nice. Just wish it was a bit shorter, and didn't have seamless feet. I'm thinking that I'll try to modify the feet myself, but I need to get something that can cut through metal first.

Thanks for the update, goobo. So the sought-after Kier/etc body is a removable-footed version of the S42/43 bodies. Why TBLeague hasn't released that as a loose body is beyond me. Apart from S38/39, I haven't seen them release anything worth collecting to me in a long time, but I realize other collectors' mileage may vary. But I would have picked up a removable-footed S42/43. I suppose parted-out pieces is the only way at present.

I think I heard from someone who's a distributor or reseller said they do plan on doing a general release of the Viking Woman body eventually. I'm guessing it will be in 2021 since the s42/s43 is scheduled to come out in the next month or so.

Maybe they think they'll get more sales out of Viking Woman if people think it's the only way they'll get that version of that body, and that's why they're hanging fire on releasing it as a base model.

Also they seem really determined to push the seamless-footed models for some reason, despite not bothering to improve the design.

At first, I presumed they were not releasing these bodies separately because they were being used for the Sideshow figures, and I thought perhaps they had an agreement with Sideshow to keep that model exclusive to them. But then they used it for a couple other figures since (the Suzi and the Viking), so perhaps they are indeed just trying to get those boxed figures sold before releasing that model on its own.

I would personally love it if they just re-released the s07/09 with the removable feet. Don’t get me wrong, those are my two favorite bodies overall, and I have had great success in using hollow boots of varying types to get them to stand on their own. It would just open the door for other things. That seems more likely than improving their seamless design.

Speaking of feet, anyone have recommendations for foot ware for the 38/39? I’m assuming that something which works with the leg peg connector is the way to go, but they seem to vary widely. Hollow ain’t happening I know that. Waaaay to big.

Depending on what you're after, there's a guy on eBay selling high heels that are allegedly specially-made for those larger feet, but he doesn't seem to do any other styles or colours.

I can't speak for how good they are as I haven't bought any - but the seller is reliable enough (I've bought 'normal' sized shoes from them previously and they were fine). First thing I do when I get 28/9s and 38/9s is swap those big feet out for smaller ones, it's just easier all round.

Despite myself and even though it seems like it's merely the seamless-foot version of our new favourite body,  I've got an S42 on order purely because I like the sculpt.

It won't stop me getting another of the detachable ones when they eventually release it though (unless ******* Brexit throws a spanner in the works ). I'll be surprised if it doesn't turn out to be the missing S40/41 model, and if it is I guess that'll probably prove the theory it was held back to get extra sales on those sets...

Welcome!

You are better off finding boots/shoes that are peg type (just replaces the foot all together) instead of ones that are foot type (where the whole foot goes in). The feet this comes with, both flat and for heeled footwear are huge. You can also replace the feet with the normal feet from other TBL bodies, but they don’t always fit the various footwear available.

Is the ankle peg the same as the other 'regular' size tbleague bodies? If so, I would suggest swapping the feet with a tbleague body that has smaller feet.
