Spades J’s memory: Escape to Mexico
God Will Judge Our Enemies, and We'll Arrange The Meeting!

Greg once served in the special force, and then he spent a few years in the mercenary business with Ogier and Harry. Together they faced death on the battlefield, where¬¬ Ogier saved Harry’s and Greg’s lives. Later, Harry followed Ogier into the Spades family and became the 7 of Spades, while Greg chose a different path and settled in Mexico with his Mexican wife, and organized a small moto gang called “the Tribe”. Ogier would pay a visit to Greg every time he stepped on Mexican soil.
Ogier is hunted by the Hearts family after he has killed little Billy, all the way into Mexico. Before crossing the border Ogier called Greg for help, as he has emptied his ammo cash, and there has been a long time since he last had anything to eat or drink. To summary, Ogier is not enjoying this situation. His beloved Jaguar E-Type rolls over the ever-stretching Mexican red soils, with two Land Rovers chasing her tail; Ogier hasn’t got much left to deal with this, with his concentration and stamina reaching the limits. After dodging another round of bullets, Ogier phones Greg again: it’s now or never.
Camera turns to inside a scoping sight, and on a rock above the top of a valley ahead of the red soil road lays a man behind a rifle, aiming right at Ogier.
“Never seen you buried under (censored) like this. How long since you last took a shower?” Says Greg, holding the rifle.
“I bring enough urine to give you a bath. Now cut the crap, when the hell are ya, see the two cars behind me? 6 blokes.”
“Rock 50 metres from the valley. Stop there, so you can release your ecstasy.” Greg replies with laughter.
“Promise me mate, don’t let’em interrupting my piss.” Ogier floors the gas and the Jag dashes into the valley.
Jag stops by a huge rock, and Ogier steps out of the car and begin to unleash his bladder, like a holiday road trip stop.

The two Land Rovers stop near Ogier. Men on the car choose to stay inside and observe Ogier’s move. “Bang”, front tyre of the first Rover is done. And “Bang!” goes the second one.
Finally finishing with his rather important business, Ogier zips up his trousers and turns around, and flashes his fingers, with both hands. The two Rovers tries to escape with flat tyres, but with two sounds of gun fire, both drivers are gone.
“There’s a backpack behind the rock for your own joy. Now I must take a fag.” Greg lights up a cigarette.
“Next time remember to leave me a pack.” Says Ogier, walking around the rock and picks up a submachinegun.
Ogier sticks a G18 into the back of his jeans, and starts pouring bullets to the Rovers with the machinegun.
“Bang” and “Bang”, the rifle talks again, persuading those who got off the Rovers not exposing themselves.
Ogier is not satisfied even after emptying a full magazine. He continues to spout his anger through the G18. When that magazine is finished, he tosses two grenades and then takes cover behind the rock.
Grenades roll under the two cars, and those men behind the Rovers spread and duck.
Two explosions sweep those men away.
“Two by the right on me, two left ones on you”, says Greg, aiming his sight at the legs of one running gunman.
Several shots fires, now Ogier has no one to chase. He turns to the other side and stares at the crippled enemies, “They’ll run away if you keep play.”
A roaring motorbike out of the valley cuts into the route of the running two. The rider took out a katana, and then the two crippled are fallen, forever.
The motorbike makes a U-turn and stops in front of Ogier.
Lifts the helmet visor only to unveil his evil smile, Greg says, “Welcome to Mexico.”
As helpless he could be, Ogier grabs the helmet Greg passed to him. “Thought you might take a few more blokes with you.”
“I just want some solitary hours with only you and me.”
Put on the helmet, Ogier sits unto the backseat of the motorbike; the bike trembles under his weight. “Haven’t finished with your bladder business, sir?” Greg turns around and asks.
“Yeah, too much guns”, Ogier pats on Greg’s backpack.
“Hoping to watch you finish’em all, but can’t help to join the parade.” Says Greg, while starting the Harley bike.
“How’s Maria?”
“At home. She’s preparing your favourite burrito with avocado, with honey beer.”
“Blimey. I’m (censored) starving.”
Those two ride right into the setting sun.

While I'm not one to go for stylized features, I've usually found these sets to be very well done and an excellent source of kitbashing material; this is no exception.

I agree, it looks great! I have ordered one of the earlier figures but I cannot collect them all, unfortunately.

All I want is the hooded jean vest. But, yes — so much great bash fodder comes from these sets.

DAM's Gangster's Kingdom would have been the greatest non-military series in the 1:6 hobby if they had gone with regular head sculpts as opposed to these cartoonish nonsense.

Usually the Gangsters Kingdom figures are based on a character from movies or TV, the head is supposedly based on late actor Andy Whitfield but i cant place the outfit.

I thought maybe it was Luke Goss from the Death Race movies, but I’m not familiar with his outfits in those.

This figure is pretty cool, but what got my attention was the vest and the helmet.
It's weird how hard it is to find decent 1/6 bike helmets.

Welp, this figure just arrived to me. And I gotta say: for a DamToys figure... I'm kinda conflicted in my opinion - loved most things, got disappointed by some. I don't know if I was a bit unlucky, if it's just my personal copy, but some accessories came with tiny annoying problems. Unfortunately, my phone's camera is having a problem with macro pictures, so I couldn't take detailed pics from the small grips I had.

Let's start with the pistol. It comes with 2 extended magazines (no normal sized magazine), it has a neat subtle flame painting on both sides of the slide, it has a sliding motion, but the slide doesn't align properly with the frame, it sits slightly back. *OCD feels intensifies*

The sniper rifle has 2 magazines of different sizes, and comes in 3 parts: the wooden grip nicely painted, the barrel and trigger in one piece, and the scope (bland, with no detail on the lenses). The scope holds well and sturdy on the barrel, but... the barrel doesn't click properly on the wooden grip, making it floppy.

The small sword is made of plastic but has a cool metallic painting and comes with some blood details on the blade. Now, unfortunately, the sword hangs completely loose on the scabbard. The slightest movement makes the sword fall off. It's easy to fix it, still...

The modular helmet, the accessory that got me the most excited to get this figure, is nice. It has 2 moveable parts, the chin and the visor and fits nicely on the figure's HS (I'll have to test it out on some other HS's I have later). It's black matte with some silver details on it and 2 tiny red parts on the bottom. The visor is translucent with a silvery color, allowing you to see a bit on the HS inside. Pretty dope... buuuuut... (there's always a sexy but)... the chin part also fall off with a sneeze from across the room, specially when it's on the HS. Its pegs just don't click right on the helmet holes.

The hands are neat, stylized, gloves have an exceptional painting job on the weathering and tiny silver parts... bbbbbbbbuuuuuuut... the trigger hands fingers are very stiff and too close to the palm, they simply cannot hold any of the guns, it just doesn't fit. I may be able to loosen this up by heating the fingers, though I'm not that confident it'll work. This one, for me, is the biggest flaw of the figure.

The box comes with a 1:1 comic with 18 pages. The art style is just amazing, right on my alley, following the stylization of the GK world, and all in black and white... but... it's in a very broken Google Translate English. C'mon, if only it was a small company, but it's DamToys. They could've asked some English speaking person to correct it. It was just a sloppy work in there. There's not even that many lines.

Out with the bad stuff, now onto the good stuff.

The submachine gun is pretty dope. This one has no flaws (thank the Old Gods and the New). It has a folding stock, and comes with 1 small magazine (that I wished the pistol had) and 3 extended magazines of same size.

The backpack is really well sewn, filled with cotton. It comes with 4 small olive green packs on the side of it with 2 different sizes, easily removeable. I may even use one of those packs as Lara's small backpack.

Lastly, it has 2 spare wrist pegs, 2 elbow pads, 2 knee pads (all pads neatly weathered), a trouser chain, a necklace with dog tags and 2 small patches on a double sided tape to put anywhere you want.

Finally, we get to the figure itself. It's a GK, so the HS is very stylized and perfectly painted. Unfortunately for me, it's a necked HS. I'm not fond of the restriction on the head movement.

The body holds well the poses, all joints work nicely, but it's not stylized, like the hands and HS, nor does it have any tattoos or anything. A body to be completely covered all the time.

The costume is just amazing. I loved the sewing work on all of it, really well detailed. The jacket has 2 functional front pockets, nicely finished even on the inside. The pants have some tiny metal buttons details, just like 1:1 pants do. By the width of the hips, it may even fit a TBL body - a test I'll also do later. The belt has a cool metal buckle, nicely painted. The boots are blocks of plastic, pegged, so no TBL compatible unless you modify it, still incredibly well painted and weathered, and they allow some good range of motion on all sides, helping on various poses. The shirt is a normal black one with a red print on it.

TL;DR : the figure itself is almost perfect, the MP9 submachine gun and backpack are neat, but the stiff hands and other accessories have small problems that shouldn't be there. Nothing that's a deal breaker, actually all are fairly easy to fix, yet they're annoyances you don't like seeing on figures at this price range.

I'll try to get a camera or a phone borrowed this weekend and will update the post with some pics.

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to some of these pieces loose. The broken or machine-translated English is also surprising to me -- surely there are plenty of people around in China who have studied English enough to either provide a proper translation or edit a machine-translated text.
