Znited Kingdom? Maybe Benighted Kingdom would be better. Do the SAS wear badges on ops? Seems a bit daft.

Pretty cool, although I would prefer it if the cigar weren't a permanent part of the head sculpt.

As for the wearing of the badge, there's this personal testimony:

Phil Tunnicliffe, Served for 12 years in British Army six in UK Special Forces.

Back in my day early 1980’s you would be ‘sterile’ if going on operation. That means nothing on you that could identify your unit. This even extended to dressing like the regular army on occasions. By that I mean losing our famous windproof smocks and matching trousers. You would not carry family photos or anything that could identify you or family members. Even on exercise or on camp on friendly soil where we would wear pretty much what we wanted too we would generally not don our SAS berets. Our distinctive SAS parachute wings would often be attached with a couple of sewn in press studs or velcro for ease of removal. Our berets would however be carried usually in the side pocket of our trousers. ….And if we were in The NAFFI having a brew or a beer AND there were females about…the badge on our berets would just be protruding slightly from the top of our pockets! ;-)

As with all such testimony from alleged members, it has to be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, he typed 'NAFFI' instead of 'NAAFI'. I've met a few who claimed to be ex-SAS, but only one old chap I actually believed from his tales of military life in the 1960s.

The SAS like other regiments, also had a stable belt, and General Sir Peter de la Billiere clearly wore his quite lot on friendly soil as it displays a lot of wear.

I have an SAS stable belt that's almost identical in the amount of wear.

There's always been a lot of confusion about the badge - not the SAS parachute wings referred to above, which are shown here below the SAS badge:

It's often referred to incorrectly as a 'winged dagger' after Roy Farran (2nd SAS) published his book, Winged Dagger, adventures on Special Service, in 1948.

The error is often corrected to describe it as a 'flaming Excalibur'. Yet there's even debate over the identity of the sword.

The true story is supposed to be as follows:

In 1941 Lt. Jock Lewes, founding principal training officer of the SAS, told Lance Corporal Bob Tait to design a badge featuring a sword. It was the sword of Damocles, which is why it points downward, and was meant to be surrounded by flames but the original maker thought they were wings.

Wait, he smokes that cigar under the scarf??

If you look closely at all the pics, the scarf is never over his mouth (the closest it gets is in the “night vision” pic, but it still never covers the cigar.)

Really nice Capt. John Price.
I may be mistaken but i think this is the first complete Capt. Price figure.
The last thing i remember of him is the headsculpt with cigar by Loading Toys a decade ago.

Rollo is right. He IS Capt. Price. Hope they make "Soap" after this.

I need this HS and sneakers, and wished these clothes weren't so tight to not fit a TBLeague body.

the regiment do not wear insignia on operations. Well, not ones saying SAS etc. They would wear the union flag patch depending on where they are. But would not wear any form of unit recognition. Otherwise if they were captured, would be pointless being a secretive unit! I have 2 friends, well, old friends as not seen them for years, one was SAS in the 80s, the other in the 90s. Not saying I know it all, as don't..far from it lol. I just do know they don't advertise themselves as SAS.
