I like the dark brown one.

Hmm, can the horse experts tell us how accurate these are to the breed? I know they often have this strange shape to the head, but did they get it just right? Although perhaps what's throwing me off most is the 80s perm look of the mane and tail.

I find these odd, myself. I had the good fortune to be around a bunch of different Arabians at an auction once, decades ago, and I don’t honestly remember them having this odd shaped head/snout, let alone the hair. I was really excited to see this offer when I first put it up, as the Arabians are among some of the most majestically handsome horse breeds in my opinion, but these just look bad. About the only thing I like is the height. Unfortunately, Mr. Z chose some of the newer breeds of Arabians as their example, and there are complaints from people in the Arabian circle that breeders are breeding them to look like this, though I think the tail and manes aren’t accurate at all.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions, Mark. I did find a lot of photos with the new look, but also a lot with the old, classical one. I definitely prefer the latter. The new look reminds me of a seahorse, and that is not something that seems right on a (land) horse to me

my friend used to breed these so I have asked her but as I recall they look pretty accurate. I do know they have less vertebra in their backs. not sure which colour I like

Hmm, yeah, I was excited by the title as well, but not totally blown away by the result. ;p I used to own and show Arabian horses on the national circuit in the US all throughout my childhood and teenage years, so I'm pretty familar with the breed. I can see what they were going for, but imo they didn't quite capture the breed's delicacy and elegance, and instead ended up with something a little more on the cutesy/goofy looking side. The rather overly poufy looking manes and tails doesn't help, lol. That said, I've definitely seen far worse 1/6 horses. Like with the Akhal-Teke, I'm thinking a re-hair and some better-fitting tack would actually help a lot with the overall impression.

The more modern version of the Arabian (which iirc was often refered to as 'Egyptian' style), with the dished faces are not all as grossly exaggerated as the example Stryker posted -- some of them can be quite pretty. But yes, of course, like with any animal that is often bred for looks, some breeders have gone overboard to the point of ridiculousness. I liked both types growing up, and knew beautiful examples of Arabian horses that had the more dished faces as well as those with a less pronounced profile. My own horse was more of the older type -- perhaps not as flashy as some but very handsome to me. :')

I'll probably pass on these, simply due to current budget, but if I did pick one it would probably be the chestnut as it's quite cute and reminds me a bit of a toy horse I had when I was younger. :'D

I think they’ve done pretty well but the underbite is really offputting. I think a less frizzy mane and tail would make a huge difference too. Overall I think it’s really nice though, but I’m not a big fan of Arabs so it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I have no knowledge on how accurate these are, but the body looks pretty cool, I have no idea why they have that long curly mane and tail though. Kinda stands out. Wonder if they are expecting us to customize/style it?

I wouldn't mind the long, thick wavy mane and tail on a horse breed that it was a bit more appropriate for, such as a Friesian or cob or a something. But it looks a bit out of place on the Arabian, which is a large part of what is making it look so 'off'.
