Someone more in the know about such things should confirm it, but it looks like a pretty awesome set, with plenty of accessories and options. The champagne bottle and glass are just precious; and DID knows how to make perfect jackboots (which fit even TBLeague feet, a rare feat -- see what I did there?). My stepgrandfather had to attend the funeral of a friend in Germany. On the way back, he couldn't remember the German word for "airport" and freaked out the taxi driver by repeating the word "Luftwaffe." Eventually they understood each other.

Looks very detailed! Lots of accessories, and I agree the champagne bottle and glass are a nice addition.

Awesome story about your stepgrandfather Gubernator.

I've never had any interest in these officer types, even when I was collecting WWII figures, but DID sure knows how to make amazing sets...

Thank you, he did have some cool stories, most of them not relevant here.
Agree on DID sets -- I think the only one I ever got as a set (as opposed to selections of parted-out parts) was the British ceremonial guard with Roger Moore head.

You should check out the stuff that LIM Toys is doing (like their “gunslinger”), which is going to come with a bunch of stuff.

It reminded me of that Landa character from Inglorious Basterds (overrated movie, by the way), but it's not him.

And thanks.

True, thanks for reminding me on that one! Quiet a lot of cool equipment with this gunslinger figure Smile

Better yet, in addition to LIM Toys The Gunslinger there is also the VTS Red Death Wilderness Rider, who is another version of the same thing (Red Dead Redemption) and also comes with a ton of accessories.
Most of them do not duplicate. Put the two together, and you have a positively staggering set of Western accessories.

It’s a little weird to me that they keep making these figures based off of movie actors. Aren’t there enough real photographs of real people to base these on? (I suppose it’s a matter of being able to get a side view of an actor from a movie, rather than basing on one or two photographs— though it has been done before).

(I wouldn’t mind seeing an US soldier based on Audie Murphy.)

I looked the film up and it is a "true story" about a soldier who is on the run from the MPs at the end of the war and he finds a Captain's uniform and assumes his identity. He then goes on a killing and torture spree!

A rather bizarre character to base an action figure on. Before Sandron had identified the person I had assumed it was from the film: Battle of Britain, as they had at least one scene with LW officers in mess jackets.

Nicely done-but one question, though: since he is supposed to be a fallschirmjager (paratrooper), shouldn’t he have the rounded German fallschirmjager helmet instead of the standard issue German helmet?
