LOL Wrong sex -- which is nothing new in these fantasy re-renderings of ancient mythologies. Otherwise a pretty striking pseudo-Egyptian fantasy piece. But I can't get past the glaring mistake. The body (too bad there are no normal hands and feet) might have been very cool for a kitbash, even if too black for a realistic African human type.

Stryker2011, special thanks for the prompt information about this one, because I haven't yet firmly committed between Silver and Black Horus and now I am in time to reconsider that decision from the perspective of which combination will work best.

Gender swap aside, I believe that Horus should have been a hawk and not a falcon, and now Monthu should have been a falcon and not an eagle, but I confess I can't really tell the difference especially when it is just the head.  The duo pic of Horus and Monthu looks terrific so I guess that was the rationale for the gender change.  There were roughly as many Egyptian deties with bird heads as there are Hot Toys figures of Iron Man, so we can probably just say this isn't Monthu but one of the other ones.  I'm impressed TBL are continuing the Pantheon, having 3 so far takes the combo to an exponentially greater level of impressiveness.  I bet you that TBL, burdened by current events, are coming up against the hurdle that they can't risk putting one into the marketplace that is labelled "Isis"...

Though it wouldn't necessarily work, since this is far too busty and muscular -- the coloring wouldn't be too far off of Grace Jones (Conan the Destroyer).

WHAT?!   Wink Come on... they barely delved into this subject, and to be honest it hasn't been touched by anyone else. I'm getting more burned out on the 9 million Iron Mans, Spider-Mans, Batmans, Spartans & Romans. (Granted, they have unrealistically non-historical Cleopatra -- based on a comicbook -- and a Nefertiti), but the Pantheon of Gods hasn't been broached at all before. I'd like to see them do an Isis and a Set, at least, before they call it quits and move on to other Gods.

I went for the Gold with Horus (and Anubis was gold), so I'll definitely be getting the gold version of this.

Yes, and Gold is a great look, but still I ask myself whether  the Pantheon looks better with consistency across the board, or would be improved by some differentiation.  Thus do I overthink things.

Technically the TBL "Cleo" is (a) not from a real comic book anyway, and (b) not meant to be Egyptian at all, and (c) separately TBL made also a "Cleopatra" that's not historically perfect, but somewhat more credible. As I joked above, if they do Isis they're gonna have to call her something else, maybe "Sky Goddess" or "Mother Goddess."  But (and I know I've made this rant before) they need to give us at least one single darn Egyptian human male -- whether a soldier, warrior or a Pharaoh.

That's a great looking set up, and the background comments are informed and helpful.  Is that main figure remade from the Mystic Forge Ramses?  I really wanted that figure but there were way too many problems, a) it was hard to find anyway and b) overpriced to begin with, c) then it included a very unnecessary throne, and d) shot the price way up further because of the throne, and finally e) presented lots of discordant body joints on an expensive near-naked man at the same time that the seamless bodies were becoming the norm.  I feel sorry for the Mystic Forge guys who meant well.  And you are absolutely right, I think the version of the Egyptian human male in your post would sell well.  Additionally or alternatively a warrior/soldier that we could army build with.

It's a crazy situation really.  TBL has given us 3 or 4 Egyptian Queens so far (depending whether you count Coco/Cleo) and 3 of the Gods.  There are some other interesting Queen options, eg. Barbie did a great Egyptian Queen and a surprisingly accurate Elizabeth Taylor Cleopatra ( I know the latter is not historical).  There's crazy tons of suitable props and statuary from the Décor and knick knack world, so we can easily do staggering dioramas, way beyond what is available eg for Greco-Roman.  And NOT - ONE - SINGLE - MAN.

Good points all. Yes, those were pieces of the Mystic Forge Ramses, put on an M33 body. Some ancient warriors (and civilians), as well as canon-based deities would be most welcome.

Very cool. I love the body, hands, and feet -- and felt the same about the male version. While I'm not interested in the actual figures themselves, the parted out bodies and hands/feet would be perfect for monster/horror 'bashes.

Part of me is getting impatient to finally finish my Star Wars line-up because I'm absolutely dying to start working on custom horror figures! Razz

Ignoring current 'official' Star Wars content for my own sanity.

Another of those Gethsemoni/Keir/Suzi/Viking Woman body-types by the looks of it.

In a way I think TBL are just trolling us now with all these one-off skintones that prove they could easily produce more ethnically-diverse variants if they were so inclined.

Considering silicone adult toys come in various colors (even multi-color tie-dye), I really don't see a technical reason that TBL can't offer various shades. If they don't think there's a huge market for other skin tones, they could always do smaller batches. These one-offs are probably even smaller batches anyway.

As it is, their current offerings are either ghostly (Pale) or pale (Suntan).

I think I'll Stick with Horus and kitbash him into something less Egyptian.

I too might have considered this if there were human feet and a matching African style head, btw I had a work colleague once who came from Nigeria and to be honest when he returned to work from visiting his family he wasn't far off the colour.

I'm thinking an African female head with long woven hair sort of like some of the people in black panther

Oh... I like the golden one. Probably use it in a more fantasy role than it's original purpose. Lol

These figures are damn impressive. I really like how TBLeague is bringing a lot of variety to the 1/6 (and 1/12) market.

Alright alright. You're right. These are magnificent and I appreciate them being produced. But it's been five in a row! and since this is not my genre (thankfully) and I'm not buying any of them...

I would get an Artemis, since I was named after her Roman counterpart. She couldn't be overly sexualised though, since she is actually the patron of pure adolescent (virgin) women, as well as the hunt and the waxing moon. So anything that goes in the direction of amazons is cool by me. Smile

PS: I think it is great that they are offering multiple colour options for their recent releases! Seems to be a very efficient way of inciting collectors to buy at least one, if not more, which is good for the hobby. Smile

wow...i have a feeling if i don't collect this, i am going to regret! I loved esp the hands...4 fingers! (or claws)

I am not a bird person, so it is hard to consider...well, maybe Halloween's theme?

Doesn't this figure's breasts look way smaller than these other ones. I don't know if it's the armor's design, the lighting or the colours overall that are giving me this impression, but they definetly look a different size.
Also, I loved this amazing figure, all its intricate details and the colour of her skin (please, TBL, give us at least a cocoa skin female body), but since I didn't go for Anubis and Horus (regretfully, for lack of funds), I'm, again, regretfully passing on this one.

My country's currency plummeted so hard this year, making all USD-based purchases, that were already expensive, just prohibitive.

WOW this is supa impressive!!! (glad I'm not into that genre, it seems TBLeague is constantly pushing the quality lately)

gooboo

So this is getting parceled out on ebay, and I decided I was going to get the body for a demon gal I have in mind.

The body is interesting though, because the hips and the narrower shoulders look like the Viking Woman body, but the breasts do appear to be smaller, more like an s28/s29. Looking at the VW body I have, she definitely has a larger bust than this picture does.

I'll post pictures whenever this figure arrives in the mail.
