Nice to see figures based on real people. The overly emotive face is something different, for sure, though likely to work only for a small number of instances (although I suppose the toothy grin can also be a nervous grimace). And plenty of equipment for military collectors and kitbashers. What do you guys think?

It just depends on point of view and preference.  I find most sculpts lacking of emotion, so I find this one refreshing.  It also seems to capture his personality based on the historical photos.  I like this sculpt so much I picked up a blank escapee a few months ago.  He’s pretty cool, and I like the vibe of the whole figure and how it honors him as an individual.    

I agree about honoring him as an individual, although that notion also has some potential downsides -- e.g., why him and not some others (which someone's bound to think), and also one day someone will try to honor one of these war heroes with a headsculpt that they or their descendants or surviving friends would absolutely hate. I doubt this would be the issue here, but it is completely foreseeable.

All excellent points GubernatorFan.  It seems to be handled differently with real people such as with the Jake McNiece,Henry Kano, etc.  I do wonder how the process works for choosing them and how the estates are involved.  It’s also important to consider sensitivities when kitbashing and using the image of a war hero.  It’s different from an actor.  All interesting issues.

Good looking figure and nice to see military boots with nicely stowed laces. They were always told to do that to stop them catching on tripwires.

I really like this, M1A1 is a huge selling point for me.

I like the emotive head sculpt, I just wish they had done the teeth in a more realistic manner instead of just perfect chiclets.
