I’m really not seeing thoroughbred in this sculpt, but it’s a nice horse regardless!

I like the saddle. I wish (my first new year wish!) there are pictures with this model and other Z's horses compared side by side, so that i can decide.

I still want a reissue of ili horse

Ha, same -- doesn't look like Thoroughbred to me, seems more like a variation on their previous 'Hanoverian' (though somewhat taller, from the looks of it).

I don’t know. We had a thoroughbred when I was a kid, and looking at old photos of him, this looks a lot like him to me. Maybe not perfect, but I’ll take it — especially since they don’t seem too interested in re-releasing the Ili.

I like it, although I'm not sure I love it. Probably just because this is not exactly the quintessential generic horse in my head. But I will leave it to our horse experts. It does seem suitable for Far Eastern military figures, from what I can tell. Is it just me or did the black version of the horse get a perm?

LOL, yes, it did. Guess they are experimenting a bit more with that type of faux hair -- they used it on the 'Arabian', as well. Though normally that kind of mane colour, thickness, length, and texture would be seen on something like a Friesian, rather than a Thoroughbred.




I'm still hoping they will make a Friesian and/or Andalusian some day.... we'll see... ;p

Sure.... for what it's worth, this horse is not my perfect 'generic' horse, either. But I think it will definitely be fairly versatile, and would look good in a western saddle. It also seems tall enough for male 1/6 figures, which I know is particularly important to some people.

Yeah, actually now that you mention it, I can see it. I think I’m just used to race-fit thoroughbreds! I’m much more of a cob/pony person myself. XD

I'm more used to looking at racehorses, too, Lynkhart. These ones seemed just a tiny bit on the... chunky side? I keep thinking the legs could be a tad longer, too, but it could just be me. From some angles, they look almost more like Appendix Quarter Horses (Thoroughbred x Quarter Horse cross), though I suppose they could work for off-the track Thoroughbred turned riding horse.

One thing that bothers me is the 'bay' coat colours.... why can't Mr. Z get the bay colouring right? They keep forgetting to shade the legs black. A nitpick, perhaps, but a distracting one. ;p

I'm no horse expert, but I do like the look of these. I'd like a western themed tack though to go with it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to PO these without paying the full amount upfront? In other words, do any sellers allow a deposit instead? I'm totally broke after the holidays and need a month or two to recover. But I really like these, as they look like an improved version of Mr. Z's earlier Hanoverian, and would love to add one to my collection. I have terrible luck with missing out on things if I don't PO them, though...

If you bundle orders to get to $350 (not hard in this hobby) you get free shipping from Timewalker Toys. I’ve been using them for years. You will pay for the item when it is two weeks from imminent arrival (nothing up front unless indicated).

That's great to hear.  Any penalty for cancellation?  

I use BBTS exclusively because BBTS let me cancel a pre-order without any penalty (especially when the Chinese forum posted in hand photo of a low quality product)

And they only charge $4 even for oversized item like 1/6 Horse

I’ve only ever canceled an order once (though they gave me that option), but I’ve heard that they will let you do it, as long as it doesn’t become a habit — if it does, they will refuse to do business with you.

Honestly nothing can compare to the lli horse I missed out on but this one is a start! Better than the akhal teke imo.
