My first thread here so might mess it up! Laughing

This is No.6 out of 9 Wraiths, only 6 were featured in The Hobbit movie trilogy so the next 3 and Sauron will give me complete artistic freedom, however this one is based on the pictures below. I say 'based on' as I always take an artistic license here and there as these are CGI characters existing in a 2D world and it's not always possible or convenient for me to translate that into the real world mechanics of 1/6 figures that need to be fully articulated IMO.
Like most of The Nine there seems to be no story or name behind this Wraith other than he was once a human king corrupted by one of the nine rings of power given to mortal men and then enslaved by the necromancer Sauron to live forever as a spectre of himself and do Sauron's bidding. He is seen with the other 5 Wraith (that I have already made figures of shown in the links below and the LOTR/TH marathon WIP build thread that now has 24 pages of work and many more characters built on it, 13 in total so far) at the battle of Dol Guldur fighting Saruman, Elrond with Galadriel protecting Gandalf then facing down Sauron, albeit at a distance.

Now you have truly arrived! Beautiful work as always. Not to distract you further, but I was thinking you are the man to make the angel of death from Hellboy II (I was rewatching it before doing my review of the figure). And he (she?) would be a great addition to your creepy fantastical characters.

Thank you for posting this here. Another amazing creation. Really looking forward to seeing Sauron with the Nine.

I'm not really into this genre, but I can appreciate a great looking figure, and these are great looking figures. I can only imagine the amount of work that has gone into creating these.

Cheers GF! I think NECA made a nice one, can't remember the size but I'm pretty sure it was 1/6ish, got loads of HB 1/6 and 1/4 stuff on display and a box full of non 1/6 HB figures too, I might even have a small version of it in there! LOL. Got so much work lined up mate I'll have to pass on that build for a while yet! Good idea though!

Thanks Stryker! Me too, then got 13 Dwarves to worry about building! Wink Love your signature picture! Is that one of Exile Cycles' builds? Always loved his work, only second to Arlen Ness for me. The model's a beauty too!

Even more reason for me to be grateful for your kind comment scalawag! Yup they've kept me busy along with other stuff! Shouldn't that be "Can't see the trees for the forest" as they keep crashing into them? Laughing

Well I'd planned to start this thread as my first here, OSW must have got jealous because it then locked me out! Bugger... Crying or Very sad Which means I can't access my whopping number of build threads!!

I confess to not following the thread on OSW, and now I see that I missed out on your amazing art! Your interpretation of this character is astounding, and beautifully presented. Each time I look at it, I see something I missed earlier.

I meant to mention, if you need something specific retrieved from OSW, do let us know. I only say specific, because there is so much. I noticed some of the photos in your very first OSW threads are not showing, by the way.

SC, I honestly can’t remember if it’s an Exile build or not, but I think it is. He definitely has a certain style.

What a killer finish to that piece of your overall project. It's one damn fine looking figure. Very much looking forward to the journey for your next vision. I'll be along for the ride.

I'm very glad you've presented it here. Been having such a hard time with OSW that I haven't been going there much and wouldn't have wanted to miss this.

Screw that! I'm agoraphobic remember!! I've done all the big world stuff, I'm now a hermit retreated into his little 1/6 world! Wink

Thank you very much for looking, yeah that thread's pretty intimidating at 24 very long OSW pages! If you like this one try one of the other Wraith links above, they're more 'bite size' threads like this Wink .

Thanks GF, it's the link to my list of thread titles. The pics are there but you need the photobucket free viewer tool as an add on to your browser to see them.

Did you know he's English? Went to California to work as a model. I've met Arlen Ness, really nice guy, met Jessie James too, he was off his face surrounded by porn stars in Daytona during Bike Week Laughing .

I'm curretntly on my laptop as I had to swap out my motherboard in order to install a sound card. The slot for it on the other board was hidden by the graphics card! What a boneheaded piece of design. If you want high end graphics card, you want high end sound too!

Got everything put in and connected, but, I've had to reset Windows in order to get it to boot! Lost all my programs! Have had to reinstall Firefox and everything, this will take a LOOONG time!

Rogerbee -- good luck rebuilding your system, this can be very disheartening.

Shovelchop -- since you mentioned it, I have been wondering from all the hints you have dropped here and there... How did you go from mountain-biking with a girlfriend in Norway (if I remember it correctly) to being an agoraphobic hermit? Of course you don't have to explain, but one wonders. And what can we do to help, if anything?

Damn, these are all just stunning! Super creepy designs, and you really nailed it. Not sure how I missed these on OSW, but I'm so awed by these. When you do finish, there needs to be some epic photos of them all together. Really inspiring work.

Mountain biking? WTF?! No I've been riding motorcycles since the year dot, not bloody bicycles! Although I did some BMXing as a kid. Always suffered from anxiety issues to some degree (genetic thing) but hid it and controlled it for years with lots of beer! Stopped drinking about 5 years ago because of chronic depression (the 2 never went well together! Shocked  Wink ) so agoraphobia due to anxiety attacks came with a vengeance, always had it with crowds. Nothing can be done but thanks for asking.

Well, hypothetically speaking, it sounds like if Roger and I teamed up and tried to get you out of your crib, we need to get you drunk first. Smile I have to say, however, that you have found a very cool and productive way to make the best of it.

LOL, yup! I also find it's a lot safer to use power tools and scalpels when you're sober! Also avoids all the hangovers that make using a dremel very painful! Wink
I still did a lot of building when I partied as I was a Harley Davidson mechanic in Florida but I was also a lot younger! Laughing

Wow... one of these days, if you feel so inclined, you should publish a little memoir... you can call it Alexander's March to Wales. It just seems like you have been all over the place, doing all sorts of things, before becoming the patron saint of custom sixth scale creations.

Things are working, mostly, but, the light for my hard drive is constantly on. Normally it flickers when active and goes off when idle. Now it's on all the time. I've hunted high and low for causes and solutions, but, nothing works. As soon as I turn the PC on bing the light is on and stays there! I just want a working PC, is it too much to ask!?

No, it should not be too much to ask. It might be that the PC is indexing or something, since you were changing the motherboard, and that could take a long time when you start anew. But I am very far from a computer expert...

It was one of the options I tried, search and indexing are disabled. When I look at the activity, there's nothing running that would make it do that. The light comes on the minute I turn the PC on and it doesn't go out till I shut it down. It's not a Windows issue as it comes on before it boots. All the hardware is working otherwise the computer would be unusable. I am stumped!

Figured out what it was,

When I had the Gigabyte motherboard in this case, I didn't connect the power LED properly so it didn't work. This meant that the only working light on the front was the HDD LED. After putting the PC together with the ASRock board, I did connect the power LED up correctly, I'd just never seen it working! The power LED is in front of the HDD LED, so when it's on, it's so bright that it drowns out the HHD LED. I wrongly assumed that the power LED was the HDD one so I thought it was stuck on.

I've disconnected the power LED now as I want to see what the PC is doing. It works fine like that so I'll leave it.

Sheesh, what a bloody relief!
