This one was definitely a little trickier to put together, getting shots of his gear and helmet graffiti were tough but I managed to get it pretty good I think.

The graffiti on this side of the helmet got a little squished, you can run out of room on a 1/6 helmet real quick.

He's got a Dragon uniform, HT ruck, with Ace helmet, boots and gear.
The monkey-braided rope is actually some elastic I got with a new pair of shoes, it looked enough like paracord to me, so I tied it together and braided it accordingly.

Here's my Forrest Gump trio.

Come springtime, I'm gonna have some scenes to recreate.

And the 'Nam trio is complete. Now you need to get him outside with the others. Nice job.

That's the plan!
Thanks, Stryker.

I wanna do up large-scale shoot with all my 'Nam guys, even throw my combat photographer in the mix..
A little tough to find the time with a 2 year-old under foot, but it gives me time to plan and refine. I need to do some location scouting, regardless.

Damn fine work on Bubba.

Did you do any sculpting on him? Mighty convincing.

Thanks! Actually I just repainted a little bit, the head is a Dragon one, from an Ice Cube figure, the mouth expression really helps sell the 'Bubba' look.

Great looking group, just watched the movie again the other night for the umpteenth time.

Cheers,

Peter.

Thanks a lot Peter!
The missus has effectively shelved the film for the foreseeable future, got a little tired of me pausing, rewinding, and screen-shotting for references, haha.

That is a great looking trio, very nicely done, and I love the attention to detail.

A fine 1:6 representation of a character who didn't have much screen time in the film, but made a lasting impression.

The trio pics are the best, posing for the camera like that!
Forrest's clueless look and that Sinise smirk!

Nice,

Though, as they were fond of telling me on our former home, you need to stow those bootlaces. GI's in general did that to stop them getting caught on tripwires.

CHEERS!

Ugh yes you're right. Just need to use some tweezers and tuck them into the boot or something.
I was holding off because at that point I still had a new set of BDUs on the way, have upgraded Gumps and his since taking these photos, but haven't grabbed any photos yet.

I think the laces on my Nam grunt were taped up the back of his legs, hence the neat appearance:

That's a good idea, I think I'll borrow that and tape 'em up.

Yeah, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the TTM-19. The BDU pants and vest are WildWork and the boots are HT Chris Taylor. The bandana is a cushion cover tie from a chair in my bedroom!
His weapon is from the DML Ron.

CHEERS!
