Thank you very much, shovelchop! Yep, it is pricey, especially as a two-figure set (but then again you get everything with it, and more). For what it is worth, Monkey Depot just parted out the set for a second time yesterday (I think).

I eventually got a couple of parted out pieces of the chain-mail and the scale-mail. So here are a couple of photos showing them off, as they are mostly covered up on the fully dressed up figures. Obviously, the "models" were just a couple of random DAM bodies and have nothing to do with this set or with Vikings... even if one of them is actually named Eric Dane.

Great review, I never saw the head sculpts on any promotion pics. They look like some proper psychos with nice hair. Imagine the screaming one topless, wielding two axes and showing of his beer belly. Or drinking from his horn.
I like all the fur and leather equipment, how the many layers make them bulky.

I would really like to see the back side of the big round shield if you have time, as I am working on a custom one.

Thank you very much. And what you say makes good sense. With World Box's "fat" body you can make your bald screaming half-naked beer-bellied Viking a reality. Smile (You will need the horn if you want him drinking, as that body has single-jointed elbows.)

I have boxed up and put away the set in gradual preparation for an upcoming move, but I found you the back of the large shield (and everything else, for that matter) in this video, more specifically at 5:32 to 5:40 (or so) --

Hope this helps!

I bought the armor loose. I didn't know the shoulder armor was that heavy.

Update: I have now added a review of the Viking Ship prow diorama environment HERE.

Damn scary fellows if you ask me.
It's nice to see such quality and realism!

Thanks, glad you liked them. They are good quality and realistically done (I think that's what you meant), as long as you realize that much of the overall look is more fantasy (how we imagine Vikings) than reality.

Yes, and I will admit I probably hold the Standard American Idea of what Vikings were like.
My ideas about the rest of the world have probably been polluted as well, but I'm trying to educate myself, including learning all the things other Countries are better at!
I like where I live, I just hope we can catch up!

The above Coomodel Vikings are pretty silly but there were a handful of decent Vikings on OSW over the years. IMO this is the best.

I agree (and I think the photo from OSW you showed is indeed much more historically accurate), but as you said in the Viking Ship thread (HERE), they work fine as fantasy Vikings.

I thought so too. Glad I didn't pass on them like I originally planned to do.
