I was interested when I saw the listing on BBICN, then I saw the photos and they did strike me as 'show dogs'.
Asta was scruffier, without the pronounced beard, long muzzle or such thickly haired 'tree trunk' legs.
I do have one Wire Fox Terrier of unknown make among my dog collection. It's actually made of bisque porcelain, which wouldn't be my first choice, and he's about half an inch too tall at the withers for the breed. I don't know how old it is, but one listing I saw put him in the 1960s.
The Thin Man series made the breed popular in the 1930s, so I wonder if Skippy (aka 'Asta') was the inspiration for the sculpt.
EDIT:
While I was Googling Fox Terriers I realised that the
JXK black and tan one resembles an Airedale Terrier. Wire Fox Terriers, according to the Kennel Club, are always white, or white plus other colours. Airedale's are distinctively black and tan.
A fully grown Airedale is also about 23" at the shoulder, whereas a Wire Fox Terrier is only about 15 1/2", which, going by
JXK's dimensions, makes their black and tan Airedale about 1/9 scale.
Not that it's going to matter very much, as they seem to have picked an unpopular breed going by the scant and not too favourable activity on the BBICN thread.
