In Exile

Old work circa 2012 based on the below news .


In case you didn't know some of the characters referred here :
1. Kathleen Kennedy
2. John from Barsoom = John Carter of Mars
3. Despicable Iger = Disney CEO Robert Iger
4. Pixarian Forces = Pixar

















Desert Tent :
WIP (wish I had more pics):
1. Styrofoam base with a hole cut out towards the end.
2. Chopsticks used as the support poles
3. Bed Sheet piece later stained with tea
4. Sand-White Glue mix



Finished Tent :
Front View
During a sandstorm, all 4 sides may be rolled down to protect the occupant inside.



Inside :
Covered that part of the base with Saw Dust, well...to make his time inside more comfortable (granted its not the Four Seasons).


Tent Pole :
Strings are burlap strings coated with glue then left to dry.


Miniature pots and pans :
Not really to scale but passable I suppose (should have weathered them).

I decided to add this pot over the fireplace section after I completed the dio so I had to cut a chunk out of it and stick it in and re-base the corner (that was not fun).

Same here. And clicking through on the image links gives a "404 Not Found" error on the imgur photo-hosting site.

I thought that's what the "exile" title was about: a droll reference to photos having been expunged.

Is this a sarcastic post, or, as others have said, the images are now gone?

Yes, they don't display any way I try them, none of my workaround tricks worked this time. But they were visible to Diana, so perhaps something changed since she viewed it.

OMG! That is SO FUNNY!

It's a brilliant parody of what drove Obi Wan in to hiding in the original film!

I was laughing at every panel!

And then the jabs at Toy Story! Finally, somebody willing to take a few (good natured but spot-on) shots at that overhyped franchise!

I love the desert tent! I've been needing a tent setting for an upcoming story segment of my own, and your tent build gives me some ideas. I'd love to go with something as elaborate as what you've done, but that won't happen. It's nice work!

Great character and set up! it all worked really well!

Beautiful work. The storyline was funny, but that diorama really steals the show! Just wow!
