Popsicle sticks

Popsicle sticks have been a mainstay of craft boxes for decades. They are one of the most useful and versatile materials I have in my workshop.

For one-sixth work, pallets and crates seem to be the most common items people make from them.

I use popsicle stick offcuts for making handgrips for knives.





And for modular components to add to gadgets and gizmos.

They do come in handy. I made a beach bar out of craft popsicle sticks (or something like that), but it got squished during the great move. These photos (in the Aquatrooper thread) are all I have left of it...

Excellent use of the sticks. Nicely done.

I made this a few years ago for the kids. It is a functioning trebuchet made from popsicle sticks and wooden skewers. It isn't 1:6 scale but it is fun to play with.

Thanks for the reminder about these! When I was a kid I remember making a ‘zoo’ for my model animals with pens and fences made of popsicle sticks, not to mention various dollhouse items. They are indeed very versatile.
