He arrived this morning.
Can't say I'm very impressed.
First off, two of his legs on one side were bent inwards. I thought that was going to be fatal, but as he's made of resin I've been able to heat them up with a hairdryer and try to reshape them. I spaced them apart with Lego and they hold the new shape when they've cooled down.
I think I have his front legs correct, but the back still need to be worked on. I got him to the point where he can stand on his own, but the legs need some 'fine tuning'. So I'm using a mug of hot water, which really softens him up fast.
Secondly, the paint/finish doesn't look that great. I've been spoiled by the dogs from Border Fine Arts, Country Artists, Sherratt & Simpson etc, plus those hyenas from Alert Line.
He has a plastic sheen when the light hits at certain angles. The black markings do look more like shading than brindle and they look good from more than a yard away, but as you get closer they look more heavy handed.
I thought Mr. Z had a good reputation for their animals, but this gives me some doubts.
