rollotomasi wrote:Fantastic pics, DD, especially the side by side ones. I thought Asian Vammpy had black hair, turns out its dark brown as compared.

The narrow shoulders look great but looks too low in some pics.
The thick wrists are just too distracting even with the bracelets, TBL's fault, of course.
The previous S23 body was already perfect for the character.

I'm just thinking new Vampy might look better on the Asian's S23B body and vice versa as Asian Vampy's smaller face would look more proportioned with the S33B.

Thank you rollotomasi! The low shoulders are totally on me Smile I agree with you that the Asian body is well nigh perfect for the character, and I prefer it myself... I will try to get some studio shots with the head swap as you suggest and post them here...

...And have a great holiday everyone! Smile

Now that IS Vampirella!

Stunning photos DD!

Hmm, I was saving up for this but I think I'm going to hold off on it now - purely because the 33b body is completely wrong for Vampi. I have nothing against the 32/33, but it's just not the right physique.

So I'm debating whether or not to just get the Asian Vampi with the muscle bod and then wait for this Gonzalez sculpt and the two Munro sculpts to get parted out, or get the Gonzalez sculpt and the Munro version (which I really like the look of even if it will clearly cost a fortune) and then struggle with getting the costume from that onto a 23b.

I don't even want to imagine what I might do to get hold of a Fonda Barbarella if there ever was one Smile

@GeeWillikers - I agree, S23B all the way!
I also thought about getting the Asian version before and using this Kimi Toys KT-011B head because of these pics.
https://hiveminer.com/Tags/actionfigure%2Cvampirella/Timeline

But the Asian is quite expensive already and the red cloth material with frayed edges doesn't look good anymore when compared to the succeeding versions.
Might be better to just pre-order Munro Vampy and an S23B.

@DesertDragon and others who have these figures, please confirm... thanks!
Vampirella Asian - S23B Light Suntan? or S22A Pale?

Vampirella SHCC - S23B Light Suntan? or S22A Pale?
(Dean Knight's Youtube review showed the SHCC is slightly paler than the Asian.)

Vampirella 50th Anniv Jose Gonzales version - S33B Light Suntan? or S32A Pale?

As best I can tell both the Asian and Gonzalez Vampi versions use the suntan bodies... As for Asian Vampirella's fabric costume, while there is the possibility of fraying, it has the advantage of conforming to the body when adjusting poses due to its inherent stretchiness... I noticed that the pleather material on the Gonzalez version would separate noticeably from her body depending on the pose as it does not stretch / contract... Just something to take into consideration.

I did break down and order the Munro Vampirella, so I will post shots of her here for sure whenever she arrives... and speaking of photography, it's always interesting to see where my figure photos end up :p https://www.ebay.com/itm/Phicen-Vampirella-Asian-version-PL2017-101-A-1-6-30cm-TBLeague/401906383592?hash=item5d937cbae8:g:JxQAAOSwg9RdkmIH

Thanks for the tips guys (I've just managed to snag the Gonzalez sculpt loose so I probably will go for the Munro version now). That Kimi head does make a very nice Vampi, though...

Just to quickly add: The SHCC Vampi is best with a Suntan body, it won't look right at all on a pale.

Oh man, you should complain to eBay, DD. They stole your photos. Not cool.

It would be one thing if someone had simply shared your pic because they liked your work, but to use it for commercial purposes without first seeking your permission is definitely not cool at all. Would certainly say something, if it were me!

Is this new Vampirella's bust bigger than the Asian version? I don't know if it's lighting effect that makes this impression or if they really are bigger.

The s33b body's bust is listed as 'medium', but it is indeed still nonetheless rather large.

Oh well... Desert Dragon, consider it a compliment. I don't know to whom you could turn for righting this issue, with any effect. Apparently my (far less artsy) photos have been "borrowed" before, too... And recently I was notified that something else of mine (non 1/6 related) showed up on Wikipedia, slightly altered to erase the attribution.

So I've now got the Gonzalez headsculpt, and yes it's beautiful... but... I don't love it. The slight upturn at the corners of the mouth spoils it for me and limits it's potential for me slightly. Not that it isn't in character or that I find it unrealistic or badly-executed or anything, but speaking personally if only the mouth were slightly more neutral, this would easily be one of my very favourite TBL sculpts. As it is, the SHCC Vampi remains my favourite, despite her wonky bangs.  Smile

Side note: although I've always thought the SHCC Vampirella sculpt makes a better Bettie Page (certainly more than TBL's version of BP from a few years ago) than it does Vampi.

FreakinLobster wrote:Is this new Vampirella's bust bigger than the Asian version? I don't know if it's lighting effect that makes this impression or if they really are bigger.

The new Vampirella uses a standard 33b body by the looks of it - if so, the bust is pretty much the same size as The Asian version's 23 body, but the 33 has narrower shoulders and a smaller and slimmer upper torso which makes the bust look proportionately bigger, and of course they're different mouldings so shaped differently.

It's been a minute since I've posted, but it being that season I thought I'd get Vampirella back in front of the camera for a few appropriately sexy / spooky shots... Enjoy, and happy Halloween everyone!

Nice to see you back, DD. Beautiful shots. The tilt of her head really helps the JG likeness come out.

The lighting in your Vampi pics is outstanding! As is your posing of the figure - very fluid and natural.

Good lighting, a natural pose, and the camera angle works well too. I like the headstone display stand.

Happy Halloween.

Thank you so much guys! I really love the TBL Vampirellas - I think her character plays to all the strengths of TBL's design and production abilities, and I'm totally fine with that Smile
