Let's see.

1:6 Medic figure inspired by HACKSAW RIDGE . . . check.

1:6 Army Captain figure inspired by HACKSAW RIDGE . . . check.

1:6 Army figures of varying load outs and ranks as well as battlefield injuries inspired by HACKSAW RIDGE . . . PENDING.

It's going to be one pricey accumulation.

Looking like a pretty good set and a nice head sculpt too. Is this supposed to be yet another Chris Hemsworth? Or someone else I can't quite place...

Judging by the name, I assumed (and DFC guessed correctly), that it is supposed to be Sam Worthington’s character from Hacksaw Ridge.

Actor Sam Worthington. He's in HACKSAW RIDGE. He was also in AVATAR and TERMINATOR: SALVATION and the remake of CLASH OF THE TITANS and its sequel as well.

Hmmm, I didn't see that movie, so maybe that's why I didn't spot it. Now that you mention it, the hairline is Sam Worthington's. Perhaps it is the atypical beard that threw me. But hey... I did guess an Aussie! Smile

It's an okay figure, but I'll probably just buy some loose items from it when it's parted out: the M1 carbine, the Nambu pistol, and maybe the 1911 Colt pistol. Speaking of the Colt, why do so many WWII figures have the 1911 model pistol instead of the later 1911A1 model? It seems it happens with a lot of the Pacific troops.

This is a cool set. The head sculpt is nicely done, especially the stubble painting. Interesting accessories, and the Sam W and film tie ins are clear enough. I'm a more casual military collector and have a question for the avid military collectors. How is DID considered in terms of quality and accuracy? The reason I ask is because of comments I saw elsewhere about DID being 'stuck in the early 2000's'. What's that perception about? I'm not trying to stir anything up. It's a legitimate question on my part because I don't see the differentiation. Cheers.

I'm not an authority on military accuracy, but I've always been impressed with the quality of DID items. They make excellent scale leather items, and their clothing has a quality feel to it.

I tend to agree, but to most eyes, the two look the same. I grew up on .45s and had a dad who knew and could tell me the differences. They're pretty subtle.

SO . . .

Am I going to be concerned and focused on accuracy instead of making sure the pistol is functional, loaded, and I'll able to shoot the opposition rushing towards me to kill me?

HMMM . . .

Chung, I think your question should be whether or not you will buy a product from a company that does poor research on its products?

My first and only DID product I purchased was the DID MI6 "Jack" (Daniel Craig as 007) from a few years ago.

I'll leave it at that.

Ahh, I thought the figure was trying to be Sam Worthington. You could possibly get away with swapping out the head for an HT Marcus Wright.

CHEERS!
