They should have sent one of those as a diplomatic gift to the roi soleil. Another impressive samurai (or rather daimyo) figure.

I don’t know much about the Samurai, but I hope he didn’t actually have to fight in that, or ride a horse through a forest, or try to go through a door. While the armor is nice, that headdress on the helmet is dumb beyond belief — how does that not get caught on something...

Hopefully it was just ceremonial.
