Greetings, this is my first attempt at a harmless little 1/6 photo story, for some little world building and character development. Wanted to post it in the Roqi thread first, but decided to give it an own thread.
...
Jordivaro, or Jordi how he is called, is taking a break after a good meal.
Suddenly, a leg arrives.
And it comes with a package.
It's Roqi, the chieftain' daughter from the neighbouring clan.
Unnoticed by the sleeping artisan, the package is laid at his relexation spot.
It's a beautiful heart shell.
"Hey, artisan, you awake?"
"Whush..."
"...whush."
"Does that tingle? No?"
Jordivaro mumbles something in his sleep.
"Nice blade..."
"Sharp..."
"...and elegant. Just like me."
"Good for cracking shells, heh?"
"Uhh, that's one hairy shellfish."
"HEH!" , he shouts surprised, while she laughs.
Disorientated, he blinks. "Ah, you! Are you crazy, 'shell princess'? I could have killed you!"
"Pff, don't call me shell princess, oyster boy!" She grins. "And I could have killed you in your sleep, with your own blade - but why would we do that? What a waste. Had nice dreams, Jordi?"
"Don't call me that...", He mumbles sleepy.
"Oyster boy or Jordi?" Again, she grins.
Jordi can't help but smile himself now. "Mhh...neither?"
He continues in a warmer voice. "So, why are you here, Roqi?"
"To kill you, of course. Hah, kidding!"
Jordi rolls his eyes.
"I have work for you. Look."
"Looks like a heart. Nice heh? I know you love that stuff."
"Hmmph....indeed."
"I know, right? Take it, take it."
"It's my birthday soon. You have to make a beautiful neckpiece out of that. I am back in a week. Deal?"
"Whoa whoah, slow down, woman..." He studies the shell. "I haven't worked with one of these, yet."
"There is a first time for everything."
"A neckpiece, ye? Seems like a lot of filing and sawing. I'd have to get a hole in there first. Might crack easy when I put pressure on it..."
"Sounds like you have a plan already, great!"
"...I haven't said 'Yes', yet. What about a mask? Two holes and I am done?"
"Nahh, no mask. Come on. Take a challenge..."
"...and I have a mask already."
Before he puts down the Heartshell, she takes Jordis mask.
"You have- WHOH! Do I look that creepy?"
"Creepy? You looked sleepy."
"Funny."
"So, what do you say, grumpy? Imagine it: Everybody will say: Look, she looks great! But who made that beautiful neckpiece? Oh, it's from Jordivaro!"
"... Ooooh, Jordivaro! , they will say! The artisan? Does he do commissions? And so on...and it will be good for the relations between our clans."
"Will it? You mean, help in your plan to turn all our clans into one big, mindless swarm?"
She pouts.
"Ah come on. That's not fair. Don't be like that."
"Just saying. We love our freedom."
"I know, I know, don't you worry. Anyway, it will be fun! And you are also invited to my birthday, of course. Everyone is, heh..."
"...and I take that blade. I mean it can't be that important for you, right? You haven't even noticed that I took it."
He sighs.
"Hmmph. Fine, a neckpiece. And yes, take the blade. Those are not that hard to make."
"Really?? Ooh, then make a red one for me, too! Or orange? Surprise me."
She continues before Jordi can answer.
"So we have a deal, turn this Heartshell into art, and make a beautiful orange blade. With a nice handle! Those snaily ones Valzenka likes." She grins, winks and turns around. "In a week then, Jordi!"
"Ah come on....!", he sighs, as she walks off. Sometimes it's hard to say No.
"....well, this day could have been much worse...", he concludes.
