That should read "new posts", not "news posts", but it seems I can't edit either with 2img blocked.

Hello everyone,
Our staff has already received the response from AVAST saying that their specialists have re-checked and that their detection has been disabled.
I quote, in quick translation from English:
The website is now marked as clean in the Avast virus database. This change should be instantaneous, but it can take up to 24 hours in some cases. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
GubernatorFan wrote:Asta, thanks for the new information. I can see this element in the list of things my ad/pop-up blocker blocks, but it does not not seem to have any effect on the visibility and functionality of features. It sounds to me like you were not seeing even the various functional "buttons," which would indeed get in the way. A long time ago I tried out Chrome for some reason -- forget whether it was with this site or another -- and had some scary potentially phishing things pop up, so I stopped using it. I've had no such problems with Firefox (admittedly, I have these protective extensions loaded and activated) or with Microsoft Edge. It may be that without additional configuration or extensions Chrome is a little more susceptible? But there are really too many variables for me to speculate, and I'm not much of a tech person. As you found out in this instance, some of the "suspect" elements are not dangerous. Anyway, glad it was a false alarm.

Has there ever been consideration of creating a Top Level category for Photo Stories? As it is, the many stories here on the forum, including Gubernator's, The PhotogBlog's, blackpool's, AlKelAstra91's, BamComix's, ReverendSpooky's, and all the other photo-story creator's projects all quickly get buried in the General Talk category.
There is a separate Top Level category for Sixth Scale Videos that only has 17 total topics and 89 total posts. I would find a Top Level category for Sixth Scale Stories much more useful and interesting than one for videos. It would be much easier to keep up with The House of Seasons or The Astraverse or the shenanigans of the Maul Rats if the forum offered a Top Level photo-story category.
Any chance this could happen?
Thanx!

In my experience (and admittedly I have a relatively slow connection), the site is a little clunky, and I would encourage you to not overload the pages of your post with overly large or far too many photos or gifs. They would probably work, but might take a long time to load, depending on what is on the page.
Well, Forumotion and servimg (which is actually an extension of Forumotion) have limits on the total number of images one can store or post, so another reason to be selective. We are hopefully very far (as a forum), but Stryker2011, who did the terrific but thankless job of posting the vast majority of New Product Announcements using his own account, now can't save more images in his own servimg account, so we had to create a new moderator account for any of us to use for these purposes, and he had to make himself a new account for his own images.lawlaw91 wrote:I face the same thing when I test it, though I can post higher quality photos, the forum is getting more slower when I load it...I am still trying to reach the both world, but so far Flickr and Imgur is better for now because they still require no effort and money to register it, I am now literally able to do at least 10000 images, if I am in control of my mind to not overdo pictures
However servimg will not be my main host anyway because their way to compress pictures is too over for my taste, my pics eventually lose 90% of the details, but for simple or leisure post I'm still using servimg because it is so easy to read for others

GubernatorFan wrote:I took a look. Perhaps you just stuck too many photos in a single post. Or, since I experimented limiting the images to a much smaller number but still got the same result, there is something different on imgur's end that prompts this response from Forumotion. I hope this is fixed soon. So far I'm unable to find anything addressing this.
PS The images in the earlier posts are displaying fine.
Edit: Strange, the photos display both in preview mode (which is of no help to regular members except the author) and in the newest photo gallery at the bottom of the main forum page.
Edit: Imgur has a certain limit on image requests, and maybe having so many all in one place triggered it. But I don't know where exactly the problem lies.
