Kumik had a website years ago, but I havent seen it for a while now. I don’t believe that FB page has any affiliation with either Kumik or TBL, other than sharing images of creations/figures using those brands — they are two different companies with no connection to each other, and wouldn’t be advertising together.

Thanks JY, that's really helpful to find specific heads. There are much more than I thought. I like how many don't look exactly like the persons they are supposed to depict, great for original characters.

Looking at all the KUMiK head sculpts was fun.
Some look impressive, some look less impressive.
Some look like celeb's with a slight twist Very Happy

I dropped KUMiK an email and attached some images of Asami Yamazaki of Audition (1999)
Who knows, they might take the idea up Smile
If they do have a crack at Asami Yamazaki, the results might look great or not so great?

That’s a nice new website. However, just be aware that Kumik’s tend to have either a yellow or orange tint to all of their sculpts that’s hard to find useable bodies for. TBL (back when they were still Phicen) made a Tan body that had a orange/yellow tone to it that could work (I’m pretty sure DarthJ just got one in his latest haul).

I think i spotted somewhere KUMiK sell their own 1/6 body (figure). I assume it is to match their head sculpts.
Having looked at the various KUMiK head sculpts, the skin tones appear to be a mixed bag, a bit like the head sculpts.

Yes, Kumik are notorious for having headsculpts that often don't match any existing 1/6 bodies... even their own! Razz

Correct. I’ve never had a Kumik body match any of their head sculpts — which is pretty crap, actually. They seriously need to readjust their manufacturing practices to get up to date with the rest of the hobby. They make some fantastic sculpts, but mostly unusable — unless your covering your figures neck to feet with no skin showing, you’re willing to put up with the differences from head to body, or you have the talent to repaint the head to match.

Indeed. It's very frustrating as they do make some interesting heads. I got somewhat lucky with that head I used for my Beth figure as it's not too glaringly 'off' from the PopToys skintone under certain lighting, but that's a very rare occurrence. And even then, I still had to heavily mod the inside of the headsculpt, due to Kumik's equally weird and incompatible neck connectors, which they for some reason glue down inside the cavity of the head. It's so hard it won't budge...had to carve it out.

I suppose I could get away with using some of their heads for my SW alien ladies since the skintone isn't an issue there, but then you run into the neck connector problem, which can make it more trouble than it's worth, at least for me.

I don’t usually remove their neck connectors, I just Dremel the cavity wider and deeper, and that works fine.
