What is it with DAM Toys and Russian military? But I'm not complaining, they make great sets, and this is no exception. Love the details -- all the way down to the patches which they pulled off great for the scale. And cool, realistic head sculpt too.

For many years 1:6 military enthusiasts had been asking for modern Russian figures and gear, and our pleas fell into deaf ears.  Then KGB Toys made their Russian Special Forces sets A & B, and it was a watershed.  KGB Hobby is no longer, and DAM has taken over keeping us Russian aficionados well supplied.  I'm hoping the price of the Elite Edition is not prohibitive.  The Basic Edition is cool, but that gas mask (why would a sniper in a ghillie suit need a gas mask, I'm not sure) and the ghillie suit are pretty awesome.  Definite buy for me.

Thank you for the explanation. Good to get some perspective. And for what it is worth, I have no problem with it, just seemed like there was a definite pattern to DAM doing Russians. Given the importance of that military, they certainly need no excuse to portray them.
