It reminds me of the HALO sets we have seen, and of course a certain actor. Not really something I'd pick up myself, but looks like a very nice set.

If they made Emily Blunt to go with this, I'd get them both... but, without her... meh.

Woah, this figure is amazing but I'm really afraid of the price. Depending on how much it'll go, this may be the first PO of 2021 for me.

I loved both the movie and the manga that was the source for the movie, "All You Need Is Kill".

Theflyingman

Price seems decent... Hovering around 260 USD so far is the cheapest I've found. One sixth kit, which includes shipping.

I PO two. Very Cool.

Nice one, wondering about the stability.

I know they chose Com Truise because of Edge of Tomorrow, but this thing looks quite different, is it based on some existing concept or did they come up with that themselves?

Cool sci fi exoskeleton and looks to be well articulated, suit is different from the moive, I'm with brassco and stryker, I'd like someone to make an emily blunt angel of verdun !

Not really a sci fi exoskeleton at all, though no doubt Ovy is right that they chose a Tom Cruise sculpt because of Edge of Tomorrow, and a star sculpt adds marketability.  But the movie connection that everyone mentions is misleading, because the likes of this exoskeleton are already out there, late stages of field testing, and just short of deployment I believe.  The main one is the Onyx by a Canadian tech company working with Lockeed.  Similar actual powered exoskeletons are out there in the Russian and Chinese military.  I think this figure is mostly the Onyx though either tweaked by Soldier Story or taken from maybe an early concept drawing.   https://www.defenseone.com/technology/2018/08/russia-us-are-military-exoskeleton-race/150939/ is an article from 2018

I ordered this figure 1,5 weeks before christmas so that I could have it in January, but it arrived in 5 days which was too fast lol.  I wasn't at home because I was visiting my parents for a week. Smile Anyway, when I came back from holiday I had a hour of puzzling in front of me how to put the exoskelton onto the body. There was no explanation and like 1000 extra parts (almost all of which are for the weapons I figured)

Anyway, here are some pic.

Sorry for everyone who likes inhand pics, I only did some artsy pics today. Maybe I can find time for some quick smartphone pics, if anyone is interested - but I guess you can already see this figure on some youtube unboxing vid.

Without further ado  bounce

My plan is to use this figure as some kind of Alien hunter. Also thinking about repainting parts of the armor, like that 'TEST01' which I don't like and also color some other parts if I learn how to use my airbrush.

The standing on the exo boots isn't great - you will need a stand to make some cooler shots.

Smile

He looks excellent. I'm sure I'm not the only one grateful that you shared it. Or to appreciate your beautiful "artsy" photos, which are excellent. Speaking of which, technically they are in-hand pictures, because they show the actual product you received (as opposed to the prototype).

Nice job - especially since they never bothered to send you assembly instructions. I have a few figures stowed in drawers that I can't work out how to put together.

I love your photography too. Excellent use of lighting.

Looks very cool Valiarde! Are you going to grab any of the new ones? I don't know if they are the same. I think they have a different headsculpt and colorway.

Excellent photos, Valiarde. Looks cool. It’s frustrating how these companies don’t supply instructions with this stuff.

thank you GF. I know that some people prefer real "in hand" pics so that they can see every color and detail under daylight condition. I do that only on request, as my fun with figures mostly comes from creative shots.

Yeah the assembly instructions are really a problem with the figures. For this figure it was especially crazy as you couldn't see where exactly the Exo Suit can be opened up to put the figure in without braking the linkage.

While a team of such soldiers would be cool, they are not my main interest in figures. So no, I will not get the other one. I plan to use him in a more advanced, non medieval setting (duh!) maybe like a space ship or sth. Alien kind of thing.
Another figure that would have worked well is that AStronaut guy from wandering earth (?)
But that green light up feature of the face shield looks so cool

Stryker2011 wrote:Excellent photos, Valiarde. Looks cool. It’s frustrating how these companies don’t supply instructions with this stuff.

True - I thought maybe that was because I ordered the figure without original packaging to safe on the shipping, but I guess it just doesn't have a real instruction for the exo suit or on how to put together the weapons at all...

Diana wrote:Valiarde, you with your excellent photos! Very Happy

Thanks Diana. It is not a real dio yet, just some parts I have laying around atm Smile

your photos are excellent... and of course, the figure is great.

I hate to be "that guy" but what would be the value of body armor that doesn't cover most of the body? From what I can see he is likely to get blasted full of ricocheting bullets/shrapnel pinging off the open parts of the structure and that nice big shot trap at the back.

If it had come with some lower-body pieces and full leg parts I would probably have foamed at the mouth with enthusiasm for it.

shazzdan

shazzdan
Exoskeletons aren't really meant to act as body armour. They give a soldier greater speed and/or strength.

Notwithstanding the name of the figure (Individual Exoskeleton Armored Suit), this isn't meant to be body armor. All the real world Exo-Skeleton prototypes, Lockheed Martin etc, are like that. The soldier gets a huge boost in strength and speed from the powered "outside skeleton" that wraps around his limbs, and he gets added efficiency from the AI that controls it. But (apart from a few essential bits like the helmet or the shin guards) you don't want to waste all that new strength and speed just to lug around extra armor plates so he can just stand there all bulletproof. You could probably wear a little relatively light kevlar on top of this, but the purpose of it isn't defensive. It's enhanced "superhuman" performance.
