Ever since Asmus announced their first release - Gandalf - in their Crown Series of sixth scale figures, I've been dying to see how the rooted hair and beard would turn out in hand. The wait is over! And yes, the work is amazing, and sets a new bar. You can find my review here:

or you can find it with the rest of the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the review!
As for your wish that asmus made enough gandalfs and Aragorns...they already mentioned they will do Gandalf the White as a crown version. I'm not a fan of yet ANOTHER Gandalf, would prefer Legolas myself. But eh, iam already out of this line anyway for now.

What a gorgeous figure, deserving that elusive 4/4 stars! Thank you for the detailed review, as always.

Great review of a great figure. I received mine early last week, but I haven’t had time to do anything much with him. The hat is indeed the only downfall of this exceptional figure. Thanks for sharing.

Glad it turned out so well! If they really had to do another repeat figure, I wish they would do an Arwen with fully rooted hair in one of her more elaborate gowns.....

Sigh! I'm still waiting for mine, apparently they are only now processing the orders made in July 2019 i placed mine in August.

I really liked my original Gandalf but what let it down for me was that his hair was a tad thin on top.

I solved the problem of his hat on the original by making a kind of circle with a tail out of craft wire and sliped that into the cone with the tail to the point. this allowed me to position it as i needed.

According to the Asmus rep, one of her gown looks is on their agenda.

Good to know!
