Do you have pilot figures in flight gear in your collection? If so, show us your photos.  Identify the pilot, rank, organization, real of fictional and tell us what kind of aircraft (real or fictional) this pilot flies. Maybe piston engine, jets, helicopters, any era....and yes...I know I'm gonna hate myself, but Star Wars pilots are okay also as long as they are in flight gear, or something resembling it....

My entry

Flyboy (or girl) Challenge 51305164163_69e2d7817d_bPilots Wanted by Gary  Menten, on Flickr

Flying Officer Dr. Laura Neville, P.Eng. Kimono Troop aerial detachment, fighter pilot.  Aircraft is a Curtiss P40 with a Packard-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

P.S.  It's super cool if you can combine a photo of your pilot(s) with their aircraft, but not necessary.  If all you can do is show us the figure, that's okay.

If you have a pilot figure, perhaps you could grab your camera too...

Here are some pictures of one of my pilots. This is a BBi figure from the early 2000's. BBi did  some very nice pilots, including this one and a female F-15 pilot. The headsculpt is not up to today's standards, but the gear does hold up. Despite the dust!

I agree, the outfit and helmet have held up. If one were bothered by the more toyish look of the head and gloves, I suppose one could kitbash. But it's a nice figure.

Great figure! I agree that the head sculpt is not up to today's standards, but surely that can be replaced with a better one, no? On the whole though, I love the flight gear.

Both figures wearing caps made by Banjoman on eBay
https://www.ebay.ca/fdbk/feedback_profile/banjoman1000?filter=feedback_page:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER&_trksid=p2047675.l2560

Because the caps are made for male figures , Laura's is naturally on the large side, which only adds to the already established goofiness of this character.

Montague has a very Stewart Granger vibe about him to me — particularly in that second pic.

Yes, I see what you mean. It's actually a Joseph Gordon Levitt head sculpt, but from the font. he could be a young Stuart Granger.

I totally see the resemblance. It is in fact a Joseph Gordon Levitt head sculpt bought on eBay

csyeung --- she looks excellent! Smile

Overall, nice idea for a thread. Wish I could participate, but don't have any characters in actual flight gear at this stage. Maybe in future... :')

It's not so much that they have to be in flight gear per say so much as have to be wearing something that indicates they are pilots, or be at the controls of their craft or something. Now in Star Wars terms, this probably does mean flight gear unfortunately. Still, there's no time limit on this, so if ever you come up with something, feel free to post.

I was thinking Robert Ryan, but yes, Stewart Granger as well!

Laura smokes? Of course she smokes, as in, she's absolutely smokin' hawt! Top that off with a femme fatale noir-era cigarette with a suggestive curl of smoke, and... it's Double Indemnity: the War Years edition! Step aside, Stanwick, Turner, and Lake - Miss Neville is on set!

If there were a male fig, a male character, worthy of the attention of Laura, that fig and that character may very possibly be embodied in the form of Flight Lieutenant Montague "Mondegreen" Wintergreen (did I hear that correctly?)! What a positively dashing rogue! In a previous post, Stryker2011 commented that Monty reminded him of film actor Stewart Granger – and all of a sudden I wanted to slightly revise Monty's military style in to a safari kit ala King Solomon's Mines. To me, however, he looks equally like another actor from the 1940s-1950s, Robert Ryan. Whoever this fig may resemble, he obviously is favored with movie star good looks and is an absolutely devastating epitome of style and class! In fact, I see potential trouble a-brewin'! Monde... I mean Monty Wintergreen is so deucedly good-looking that even Commodore Sir James Bond-Fleming might very well become jealous... and with good reason!

On a positive note – having created such a ruggedly handsome and stylish character, you will have no further need to consider the absurdly expensive DiD WWI British Officer MacKenzie set!

The head sculpt used for Monty is of the actor Joseph Gordon Levitt, )Third Rock From the Sun, Loopers, The Dark Night Rises.) I thought the sculpt looked both handsome enoughand serious enough to portray a no-nonsense military type. Interestingly, two of his upcoming projects, which I've just learned about in the last five minutes, are going to be called "K-Troop"
and "Wingmen." Look him up on IMDB if you don't believe me.

I probably will feel compelled to pre-order the Colonel MacKenzie figure, though I will surely modify his uniform to a more WWII-ish or interwar look.
