I understand that they can't really advertise that they're cranking out figures for IPs they don't have the rights to, but damn it'd be hard to find this Hellboy figure based on that title if you were looking for it based on character name etc.

Makes me wonder if they have an Abe or a Liz...! I really like the look of this.

Making it impossible to find them the name is actually the point.

But, I do like this figure. It’s up at Kit.

Yep, I get that. Like I said, I understand why they do it, it just makes it impossible for the consumers to find as well. God knows it's probably hard enough to make real money in this biz without advertising that you're ripping off an IP you aren't supposed to be touching.

Skippy

It looks like a less screen accurate version of TIT Toys' Infernal Clockwork Man, which I think was only $130 back in 2019. Although I do prefer the cloth uniform as it feels more instinctively correct.

TIT Toys had a leather uniform, as per the film, and the cap was fabric. However, the Tiger Toys looks better with the overcoat fastened than the earlier figure, because the pleather uniform was too bulky.

Tiger Toys seems to be careful about not showing his right side fully without the the overcoat. Maybe because it looks like he's missing his right shoulder board, and the holster looks more like the Walther P38 type, than for the Luger he's armed with.

The original screen worn costume:

That's a pretty nifty figure.

...obviously I need to subscribe to some companies' mailing lists so I can keep abreast and catch this stuff as it comes out rather than several years later XD

Admittedly! I think at the time most of the stuff I'm coveting the most came out, I was trying to support a family on E-3 pay...So I wouldn't have been in a position to drop a couple hundred bucks on a whim anyway.

That looks like the nice guy next door.  Smile

Leather coat and gasmask is a cool combination though. Haven'T seen the movie

It looks well done, but does nothing for me.

The movies are a fave of mine, though there's definitely some departure from the comics that I didn't necessarily vibe with. I prefer the comics, Mignola's a bit of a hero of mine. There's a lot of Nazis and occultism and Mignola, and the movies, seem to really hit the nail on the head with Lovecraftian horror and old scifi pulp vibes. There's a lot of great creature and costume design in the movies too.

Can't speak for the most recent reboot in film, but this character isn't from the reboot anyway.

Yes indeed -- plus all the added marketplace complications, above and beyond the IP, that could come with this particular uniform. Something I didn't know or remember, until just now googling the Sideshow version of this figure for comparison, is how Sideshow dealt with that particular problem. They sold the regular 12" Mr. K. as just a "Ninja" version but they also sold the Uniform version only as a SDCC 2004 exclusive, presumably sidestepping any marketplace uninformed complaints.

Any ideas about Tiger toys quality? I would love some villians to go with my hellboy, but this brand is unknown to me.
