While I don't have proper attachment to this franchise, I decided to get Lee Christmas figure just to have a representation of Jason Statham in action figure form.
Plus now I can do a reference/homage to
Agent Jason from Spy Training Camp
Straight out of package shot (almost, pistol wasn't in the holster in the package):
This turned out to be one of the best figures I have.
The face paint application is top notch:
Likeness is spot on, as far as I can tell (though I am not a great authority when it comes to likenesses, but either way, the head is very realistically painted).
Accessories are nice too. Pistol and rifle have removable magazines. There is also the beret, 5 knives (though gripping hands are too wide for them), grenades (not pictured). Only one headsculpt, but does Jason need more than one?
The head and neck are sculpted as once piece, without a joint - which is one of two nits I could pick, but this is how all PCTOYS male figures are done (curiously, Trinity has a head as a separate piece). This may look better but limits head articulation.
Otherwise articulation is decent
I don't have photos demonstrating it in its extremes, but ab crunch is deep, elbows and knees are double-jointed, boots are soft enough to not limit ankle movement much, and he can do high kicks (the outfit may prevent the body from reaching the full split though).
He has several layers of clothing, but they don't look bulky or out of scale.
And speaking of scale, PCTOYS figures are on the smaller side, and Jason is the shortest of the men. I'm not sure it's the right height for Statham (which is the possible second nit), but at least PCTOYS rendition is between their Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves:
And this height works with pretty much everything I have except Mezco (last shot)
So yeah, the figure is so good it makes me want to assemble an entire crew. I'm not even sure I can fit him into my stories, the actor is too famous after all (but then Cara Delevingne is already in there), but I'm definitely happy to have this figure on the shelf.
