Looks like the costume from the Gladiator movie. There was little in the way of accuracy in that movie.

Yeah, it is from Gladiator. Crowe’s lieutenant if you will; that creepy looking dude that helped betray him in the beginning, but sort of helped him defeat Phoenix at the end.

I really loved that movie I have to say.
No wonder this figure isn't historically correct but the fans of the movie won't care.

Not for me but overall a nice figure for what it is

For some reason I really like this headsculpt, just has a unique vibe to it. Can't use the actual figure but that's one of those heads I would love to find loose someday.

Ignoring current 'official' Star Wars content for my own sanity.

I know enough of Roman history and military equipment to not be able to get over the distracting aspects of this, although I agree it gives the impression of a good set (and might be exactly that, in and of itself). I haven't seen the movie recently (for the same reasons, I find it difficult to really appreciate), but I have a feeling the likeness is not very accurate. Yet, again, a good head.

Yeah it really looks rather costume-y. But as you said great head.

Purple and steel harmonize much better than purple and black, but it was filmed in a time period when all costumes started to have a lot of black in them. (This observation is not based on facts or research)
