Thanks, guys!

Recursion

Wanted to do something like this - taking photos of figures taking photos of (smaller) figures - ever since getting into multiple scales, but obtaining a 1/6 camera wasn't high on priority list.
But then a 1/12 scale figure makes a sort of half-scale doll, which is rather big. So I settled on these guys as subjects (don't remember what they are from, other than stylized Goofy and Sark; I received them as a bonus with some other order).

But they don't have to photograph figures - they can photograph each other too:

Very cute. I like that first pic with the tiny figurines.

Brilliant! They always make such great pics too!

Thanks. They are relatively well articulated too so I (or my larger figures) can pose them.

Btw, I've first seen a 1/6 scale DSLR on one of you pictures where Tabi (iirc) was looking at photos on her camera, so thanks for the this idea!

Thanks Very Happy . I love the fact we continue to inspire each other Wink

As always, fantastic pictures. Whenever I see your figures, I ask myself why I fill 50 square meters in my home with 1:6 figures when 1:12 figures already look so good. You captured a photographer's pose very accurately. Thanks for showing.

Thanks, Ephiane! Photographer's pose is what I'd assume myself if I was in her place Smile
These are 1/6 figures though. I have these characters in both scales.

Very nice new photos, appropriately, of photography in action. Smile

This is a very clever idea. I've already thought about it myself. To use the same figure in 1:6 and 1:12. With the 1:12 version you could build large dioramas and use the 1:6 version for close-ups of the figure. One of the 1000 ideas that I will never implement. Laughing

Thanks. Maybe I need to go one level deeper Smile.

Yes, I already have a scene in mind where this can be used.
And don't worry about not trying it yourself, you've already implemented enough ideas to worth a lifetime.

Accessorize (Part 5: more on sparring outfits)

Not much of an update this time, but I've finally acquired the FireApple tops mentioned earlier. And they are closer to the 1/12 reference mentioned in that same post:

As much as I like Kate's and Vera's combat outfits, I feel it somewhat counter-productive to have them in something covering 100% of the body, so they'll probably spend most of the time in these sparring/training costumes (unless I need to shoot a close up for the agent look).

These definitely help create the sixth-scale counterparts of your twelfth-scale figures. Good find.

Recursion: one level deeper

Alt title: Photoception

Got another mini-DSLR, twelfth scale this time - so I had to do this:

(the next challenge would be to add myself (or better still, Xzibit) to the frame, but it will require too much space)

Another reunion

One more character is recreated in larger scale.
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8457

He is known as agent Wolf, though after events of Part 2 of Diary of a field agent he is technically not an agent anymore,
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8455

and "Wolf" may or may not be his actual name, it's just how people him.
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8456

The "recreation" is not really identical this time, the upscaling process turned him into Brad Pitt (I don't have a full mini-me picture of them)
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8126

And the body is M33, which is the closest match to 1/12 scale TM01:
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8133

Regardless, I like how he scales with the girls
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8454

I was concerned he'd be too short, but now, this height works for me without any extenders:
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8458

Now I need to get some gear for him. And maybe different clothes to better match the smaller look.
Visisonor's conjectures of grandeur (updated 2024-11-02) - Page 4 Cnr_8459

Surprisingly, there are no trigger-finger hands, so I need hands too, preferably with gloves to eliminate the need for wristbands. It'll be a long - but fun - process...

Nice work on another sixth-scale version. M33 is still more or less my favorite body TBLeague did for male figures, although I do wish the arms were a tad shorter and the legs a tad longer, with overall slightly greater height. Stay away from the ankle extenders if you can help it, they are positively evil and almost impossible to get off. I'm glad he sizes up well with the female characters as it is.
When posing the body, except for some very specific instances, you might achieve greater realism by lowering the shoulders a little bit. Also, you can insert a little something between the neck post and the inside walls of the neck flesh to thicken the neck at the top, creating a more seamless transition to the head. I use specially made little pieces from Green Stuff leftovers, but a little piece of rolled up cardboard or semi hard plastic (like from the TBLeague container inner lid) would also work. See my tutorial HERE.

Very nice, he fits in well, with your crew. As Ian's says the M33 is a great body shape.

Visisonor

Visisonor
Yeah, posing is quite tricky and I haven't figured it out yet. Quite a lot of material.

Thanks for the suggestions, GubernatorFan!

AWESOME pictures.
Excellent dynamic posing and cool ideas. Love it!!
I will have to revisit this thread and spend more time with your creations.
