They look remarkably good for this scale.

One complaint I've heard about Hiya's 1/12 scale line is that soft goods look out of scale.
I guess it's not bulky per se, but the texture is too prominent.
Here it is supposed to look like a shirt, smooth and plain:


But on the figures it looks more like a sweater, with a prominent knitting pattern.

But you're showing the original Spock, whereas the figure is based on the new one, where they changed up the uniforms' look a little bit.

Ah, yes, new movies have this pattern.


There is still this jumper look though, which didn't jump at me quite as much with the old Mezco figure:


(but that Mezco figure can only be found at Hot Toys prices these days, so it's great to have another chance, even if from a different era)

I see what you mean about the pattern on Mezco's rendition of original Spock.

It's crazy how good 1/12 sculpts have gotten over the years. Glad I mostly stick to 1/6 otherwise my wallet would be even emptier haha

I imagine there is a tricky trade-off of fabric at this scale - strong enough for sewing/structure, but without bulky seams. Nice couple of figures, but I’m also trying not to get sucked into 1/12 as well.

The problem with the clothing could be minimized if they made the heads bigger; they look like Beetlejuice at the end of the movie after his head was shrunk.

I really like these, but I agree: the jumper looks too big.
Still, really cool, especially the sculpts, even though they didn't really get Carl Urban down all that well. Zachary Quinto all the more.
